    Frustratedearthmother's Journaling Journey

Didn't work on the water line at all today. We have a service contract with a septic company to do quarterly inspections. Today was the day. Usually, it's not a big deal at all, but everything they needed to check was covered with ant mounds. I got the weed whacker and cleaned 'em up a...

Coffee's Ready, Come and Sit on the Porch

Yay for a walk! We were windy all day. It wasn't terrible, but my hair wasn't fond of it, lol.

I need to try again with the cilantro. We have to eat low carb so a turnip is a good potato wannabe, lol! Rutabagas too.

Official SS Poll: What’s Your Favorite Cold-Weather Comfort Habit?

Best thing ever - my heated mattress pad! Other cold weather comforters: cozy thick sock slippers and hot tea! I'm a coffee in the morning person, but evenings are for enjoying a hot cup of green tea made even better if it's cold outside.

    Frustratedearthmother's Journaling Journey

Found a problem while digging out the valve. There are two lines that run close to each other. One is the water line with the shut off valve. The other line is a pvc pipe that has electrical wire that feeds the barn running through it. Somehow one or both have shifted closer to each other...

Coffee's Ready, Come and Sit on the Porch

Slept well last night. Coffee is great. First cup has been inhaled and about to start the second. That's the one I'll savor slowly! Watching the depressing news... Think I'll turn it off and go outside and hug a goat.

What did you do in your garden today?

Yep! Lotsa times I used to get a lot of my spring garden planted in early/mid March while I was off for spring break.

    Frustratedearthmother's Journaling Journey

My teenage neighbor (substitute granddaughter, lol) asked me to hatch some eggs for her. I've been hatching on and off since summer. I'm tired of hatching so I told her no! However, I loaned her my incubator and gave her some eggs. I got them all set up yesterday evening. I don't think her...

Coffee's Ready, Come and Sit on the Porch

I'm thrilled to have 80's in January - but worried that Mother Nature will take up some ideas of revenge and we'll get hit with single digits at some point as "payback." My luck she'll wait until I have the garden planted, some delicate shoots peeking through the ground and THEN we'll get hit...

I eat them turnips, lol! Never enough to share... Might toss a few of the greens to the critters, but only because I have collards and prefer them over turnip greens.
