Coffee's Ready, Come and Sit on the Porch

Up fairly early this morning. Had a couple cups of coffee before going outside. Goat is milked and other critters are fed, including the fish. Lotsa things to do. One more cuppa and I'll head back outside before it gets much warmer.

What did you do in your garden today?

I should finish up adding dirt to one of the raised beds today. It's supposed to be hot - heat index possibly in triple digits. Ugh. One more bed to get filled after that. I'm removing the old collards and will need to figure out what to put there. Maybe sweet potatoes - they thrive in...

    Frustratedearthmother's Journaling Journey

Busy times around here. What else is new. Had plans to do garden work all day yesterday when I got a call from DS. It was car show day! I never miss car show day so I re-arranged my expectations for the day. I headed out a few minutes earlier than planned. DH's car, which has been driven...

Coffee's Ready, Come and Sit on the Porch

G'marny - as my grandson would have said a little over 18 years ago! Coffee is life-saving this morning. Interrupted sleep was the norm last night - all night long. But, gotta get up and at it this morning. Back to adding dirt to the beds today. I'll be so glad when I finally get this job...

What did you do in your garden today?

I FINALLY got the last raised bed put together. It took a mere 72 nuts/bolts. My back is protesting, my eyes are crossed and my fingers are sore. Maybe I should order a couple more, lol.

    What's for dinner?

Sausage and cabbage last night. Picked up a bunch of salad stuff when shopping this morning so maybe a big ol' salad is in order tonight.

    Penny pinching

For years previous to my husband's health issues I had a huge garden, raised goats, pigs, quail and chickens and I worked full-time. I have no idea how I did it then, lol. Now we're retired and I can barely keep up with a few raised beds. Still have the goats, quail, pigs and chickens and a...

What did you do in your garden today?

I've been working to fill a new raised bed. Got sticks and stuff in the bottom and putting dirt on top. It's a process and it's taking me forever. I have to get on the tractor and go scoop some dirt from the mountain of pond dirt. Then I take it as far as I can with the tractor and dump it...

Can Frugality Actually Make You Happier?

THIS! I enjoy being frugal - it's like a fun challenge. I've learned to do so many things myself just because I hate to pay someone for something that I can do myself. Of course, there's sometimes a pretty big learning curve, lol.

    What's for dinner?

Tossing around the idea of maybe fish fillets and crispy brussels sprouts. That's what I'm thinking... At this point action has not been implemented. Might go look for some tortillas. Oh! Fish tacos sound better!

    What's for dinner?

Crazy that sometimes the things we think'll be 'just ok' turn out to be wonderful surprise! Can't go wrong with cauliflower and cheese!
