We avoided the rough weather, but continue to get heavy rain every other day. Even on top of the hill, we have lots of standing water, including in the garden beds. More rain predicted.

But it is not snow.

I am ready and waiting

I started planning the garden today. Apparently I am growing around 35 varieties. since when did I have more than 15?!?!

I swear I am a normal teenager......

I can't claim I was ever a normal teenager.

I can say that planting spring garden was normal in my small town when I was that age. As well as the side beds in the yard and around the house. Things are different now.

went out and checked out The River Nile and The Delta (where a drainage trench runs along the south edge and empties back into the bigger drainage ditch that runs through our property). it is doing ok, all things considered so i'm happy with that for the moment. i may be able to get outside the coming next few weeks sometime to start reshaping and spreading that flow out (along with slowing it down to make it less prone to erosion). i'll have to move some large clumps of sod and pin them down so they can get rerooted again ASAP, etc., but at least i know that what i have out there right now will probably hold up ok as it is if needed. never know what the storms may bring.
