I ordered strawberries and blueberries, I have a few blueberry plants I hope survived the winter, oh and I ordered some elderberries. Berry farms are the best! Lol
We have old, old apple trees and we want to graft on a more edible variety… maybe next year we’ll do it (we’ve only been saying...
Briefly yes. I have never met a nastier rooster in my life. He was vicious, we couldn’t stand him long enough to get a hatch 😂 they grow slowly but we liked the hens. They weren’t huge and didn’t eat more than my other birds. Ours were from Murray McMurray
I kind of agree- but having raised hundreds of them from different hatcheries, the quality and behavior of different batches of them has been dramatically different. We’ve had some that weren’t terrible like yours and we’ve had some that were absolutely miserable.
Yeah the cage part is why I never considered quail. Good to know it’s not the only way. Definitely curious to hear more about how it goes for you with them!
Are you raising them for eggs, meat or both? Quail are so cute, I’ve always been semi interested in trying them but never enough to actually go for it lol.
What kind of housing will they be in? Do they have to be caged? Now I’m looking up quail info😂
I can’t even eat chicken anymore, but we used to raise Cornish x, then we raised dual purpose birds. Cornish x are just miserable creatures. DH butchered some Dixie Rainbows for someone once and they were impressive carcass wise, we’ve never raised them so I’m no expert but might be interesting...
They worked on our road this morning! :celebrate I have a feeling someone told the town half the roads weren’t accessible for school buses… hence working on a Sunday!
Should be around 50 today, spring is coming!
There’s clay underneath, somewhere, says DH. But it’s way deeper than 2 inches, a sedan style car would never get through it. We used to have a lifted Jeep Cherokee that couldn’t make it through before DH worked on drainage. I have a Lexus SUV and it’s questionable getting through!
