    Organizing and decluttering the homestead

Today I started the declutter project on the back of our log storage shed. Scrap lumber, odds and ends of things, a cabinet with decades worth of things stuck in there, etc. Got all the lumber and the existing lumber rack(could barely be called that) deconstructed and removed and now it's on...

Well, there's your solution.....tell them they have to buy a chicken if they knock on your door!

The Holy Spirit has a way of holding up a mirror....can't tell you how many times I've had to apologize on forums and in person, for speaking first and praying about it later. Then I spend a restless night of no sleep while the Holy Spirit deals with my stubborn, sinful self and then I have to...

I agree....sort of a socialist census. They are ordered to leave behind their pamphlets....this is all so no one can say they weren't making an informed choice about the vaccine when they refused it.

Yes, lying is always a bad idea and particularly if one professes Christ.... and they already know who has had the vaccine, so they won't be knocking on the doors of those who have already had them unless there are those living in the household who have NOT had the vaccine. CC, in my state at...

    Tractor Horror Stories

Couldn't get the image out of my mind and kept picturing Aliza's face on that little girl when I imagined the event. The horror of that innocent little girl, running out to ride on grandpa's tractor and the horror of her grandpa, knowing he had run over her with that blade. My heart breaks...

    Tractor Horror Stories

Last year my cousin's little granddaughter was killed when she rushed out the door to take a tractor ride with PawPaw....only her grandpa was brush hogging and didn't even know she was approaching the tractor. She ran in between the tractor and the brush hog...no need to describe what happened...

Nope. It's redundant....anyone not expressly invited via some sort of business contract~utility trucks, delivery trucks, etc. are already trespassing and they are full aware of it. At the beginning of our road/driveway, which is a private road we share with neighbors, we have a "Private Road...

    MY LATEST DIY PROJECT

I saw one idea where they used a pallet standing on end to store tools.....so simple! Well, why not do the same thing to store T posts? Sturdy, strong, can fasten to the wall~I'd block out the top so that it tilts out slightly for easier access. Such a simple concept and I keep wondering...

Same here...never have. I also don't answer the phone to numbers that are not identified and of sources I know. That's what an answering machine is for. By the time they get around to implementing such a thing as a door to door out in the boonies, I should have my pack of Anatolians well...

    Lazy Gardener's Little Town Farm

We don't open the door to strangers unless we are expecting someone. If I'm not here, Mom usually doesn't even hear the knock or the vehicle drive up. From there it's very simple. Just don't answer the door. If you accidentally answer the door, take control of the conversation before they...

    Lazy Gardener's Little Town Farm

I didn't take a dime of their money....I called it "hush money" from the very beginning. Family kept telling me to apply to get the stimulus checks and thought I was foolish to not do so, but to me it's blood money. It was clearly given out to keep people from protesting too much over all the...

    Lazy Gardener's Little Town Farm

My uncle had a similar situation....new great grandson arrives, lives many miles away and he's not really going to get to see that kid anyway, but the grandson said he couldn't come and see/hold the baby without having the vax.....and he DID it! I think he was looking for an excuse to get it...

Amen x 1000. It's peer pressure, plain and simple. All those people who gave into peer pressure in school never truly grew out of it....they are the same people who "keep up with the Joneses" in their older age, who want to appear to be smart, informed, a member of the "in" crowd still. THEY...

    Organizing and decluttering the homestead

You wouldn't drive me nuts either....it would be like living with Mom. She does the dishes up and never leaves any overnight, rats around straightening and cleaning things up and I love it. I do the big declutter and the ongoing putting things away outside and she does the daily choring of...

    Organizing and decluttering the homestead

You make a great point, Bay! I had a snake drop out of the rafters, right onto the back porch the other day and I didn't have a single thing to kill it with! I think with the tools we have two of, that I'll establish a tool corral up nearer the house so we can grab them easier.

    Organizing and decluttering the homestead

My Mom used to be very organized and good about putting things back where they belong...but now she doesn't remember where she got them, so if she puts them back at all, it's far from where she found them. Always an Easter egg hunt to find dishes, silverware, utensils, tools, etc.
