To each his own - but I wouldn't trade my JerseyxAngus for ANYTHING!
Stays fat on almost nothing but pasture or hay. Easy calving. Raises a 3/4beef calf. Just enough milk to keep the calf & myself happy - because REALLY... who NEEDS 10 gallons A DAY unless you're a Serious cheese maker or a...
LOL. I'm afraid that I'm way too 'set in my ways' to be tolerated by a new man.
But some days I think it would be SO nice to be able to call someone and say "Hey, can you start dinner and feed the dogs? I'm still waiting on Mr. Farmer to come load a round bale and by the time I get home and...
Wow..:ep
Around here you can show up and any local swap meet and sell anything from live animals to soaps & lotions to plants to home raised meat (butchered at a USDA facility) for no more than whatever fee (if any) that the swap organizers wants to charge. $10 for a 'booth' - which is the...
I guess yall are right. Just feeling a little sorry for myself after what seems like weeks of working by flashlight in the rain.
It won't be so bad once the days get a little bit longer.

tying towels around the back legs of model...
I dropped my car off for an alignment once. Was told the next day when I went to pick it up that they couldn't do it because my tires were so bad (because of the bad alignment...). So I took the car to get new tires, brought it back and left it another day. Picked it up the next afternoon and...
Wellup, there is definitely garlic in the stuff in my jar. I can't taste any fruits..
Mostly I just stand there slapping the counter and making horrible faces until the worst of it passes... :sick
She says she likes it and takes a swig every day. :th
Still.. I will SWEAR that it's got to be...
A friend makes something she calls Fire Cider. It is VERY VERY vinegary and HOT and spicy. It burns like moonshine going down but she swears it doesn't have any alcohol in it. I keep a little jar in the fridge and take a couple of tablespoons every time I feel something coming on. It's NASTY...
Have you considered the 'A1/A2' proteins in milk? My girl was tested A2/A2 and a couple of friends who get stomach issues with 'regular store bought' milk can drink hers without any issue.
Not saying that this is the issue you have with dairy.. but IF you're wanting to be able to include dairy...
When this discussion comes up, folks always talk about being able to hunt. But, isn't EVERYONE else going to be in those woods the first few weeks? Not a deer, rabbit, squirrel, raccoon, possum, crow or buzzard to be found within a very short time, I would think.
