Come on down, lol. Actually found them for less at another store - but it's too far away for the drive to be cost effective.
About to put the first batch in the canner!
Another early morning start. Ugh. Downstairs and jump starting the day at 4:30a. Washing machine just gave me notice that the first load is done. Several more to go. Rumba was up and working not long after I came down.
Got great news last night - Grands are coming Sunday and will stay...
Up way too early again this morning. Downstairs by 4:30. First load of laundry going and unloaded the dishwasher while coffee was brewing. Lotsa stuff to keep me busy today. Happy Friday ya'll.
Ended up getting a bit over 22 lbs of sweets. Didn't love them all - they were HUGE. I dug through and picked the smallest ones I could find, but I would classify even the smaller ones as pretty darn big. Cashier asked me if I was making a bunch of sweet potato pies - I said yep - 35 people...
DH had a doc appt. today and we had some errands to take care of while we were out. I told him we'd grab lunch somewhere....but his blood glucose was out of control so we skipped lunch. He was so disappointed - poor guy. I promised him a good meal tonight to make up for not having lunch out -...

I need to do some more beans too. We eat a lot of beans because they really help keep DH's blood...
Thanks so much for that! Sweets are .20c a pound this week so I want to get some canned. At that price it's worth it - much easier than growing them, lol.
Who has canned sweet potatoes? There's a good sale on them right now so I'm considering buying some extras and canning them. Recipe I saw said to pre cook them for 15 - 20 minutes before processing. Why? They'll be cooked when processing - so why the pre-cooking? I'll be using little to no...
You're welcome! Houstonians (and most of us in the area) felt betrayed when the Oilers were snatched away from us. It has created a bit of a rivalry between the Texans and the Titans.
Up way too early again this morning. What is it about 4:47a that makes my body want to witness it every...
Well, actualllllyyyyy.... The Houston Oilers owner pulled the team out of Houston in 1997 because he wanted a new stadium and the city wouldn't give it to him. Guess the Astrodome wasn't good enough for him back then. He then moved the team to Tennessee. Their new name is the Tennessee...
