Eight pints of sweet potatoes

Come on down, lol. Actually found them for less at another store - but it's too far away for the drive to be cost effective. About to put the first batch in the canner!

Ended up getting a bit over 22 lbs of sweets. Didn't love them all - they were HUGE. I dug through and picked the smallest ones I could find, but I would classify even the smaller ones as pretty darn big. Cashier asked me if I was making a bunch of sweet potato pies - I said yep - 35 people...

When I was checking the sales ads today my normal store, Kroger, had the sweets for .39c a lb. I thought that was pretty good until I checked HEB prices and found the .20c. Can't pass that up! I need to do some more beans too. We eat a lot of beans because they really help keep DH's blood...

Chocolate chip, cherry and pecan cookies sound so good I looked up a recipe!

Who has canned sweet potatoes? There's a good sale on them right now so I'm considering buying some extras and canning them. Recipe I saw said to pre cook them for 15 - 20 minutes before processing. Why? They'll be cooked when processing - so why the pre-cooking? I'll be using little to no...

Sheet pan it is! Chicken, potatoes (for me, not DH) some cabbage, garlic, onions and sweet peppers. Smells pretty darn good in here right now.

Well, actualllllyyyyy.... The Houston Oilers owner pulled the team out of Houston in 1997 because he wanted a new stadium and the city wouldn't give it to him. Guess the Astrodome wasn't good enough for him back then. He then moved the team to Tennessee. Their new name is the Tennessee...
