    Lazy Gardener's Little Town Farm

I know that if I go to the dr. they will be pushing the covid shots, the flu shot, the pneumonia shot, the shingles shot. Then, there's the statin drugs... and the list goes on and on ad nauseum.

Lisa, I waffled back and forth about doing the paste, and finally decided against it. I've been reading some warnings: don't know how accurate they are. "They say" that the ivermectin is not evenly distributed throughout the paste. I would love to hear the definitive answer on that. I know...

Bingo. Yep. I even cancelled my yearly physical... Which supposedly is now a medicare requirement. I'll not darken the door of a dr's office unless I need a refill on my respiratory meds. And then they will dangle my need for a refill in front of my face, like a carrot to FORCE me to see...

    Lazy Gardener's Little Town Farm

I made great head way today: cleaned duck house, fluffed up their bedding, gave them some bare soil in there to muddle around in. cleaned almost all of the area between old coop and hugel kulture mound. Laid out some maple logs on front side of hugel mound. Will back fill behind them to...

we have one that has vinegar and epsom salt. There's always so many other priorities. But, I've cleared out a lot of stuff, so that NOW I can see the P.I. I've tried a number of the DIY sprays and the results have not been stellar.

Get ready folks. It's coming. Feds are mounting a door to door onslaught to push their covid jab. Hubby and I have already been called and rec/d letter from insurance carriers offering "a free, in home, wellness visit." Um. No thanks. Any such visits to my property will be considered...

    Lazy Gardener's Little Town Farm

This morning, I started cleaning the duck house. I'm piling all of their bedding on top of the hugel kulture mound. The, I started yanking out the tall weeds in front of that area. unfortunately, poison ivy is creeping in from the property line adjacent to that area. I want to tame it, and...

Coffee's Ready, Come and Sit on the Porch

How big is your pond? Is it a dug pond, in the ground, or is it a plastic lined affair? In many areas, it's illegal to have goldfish outdoors b/c of the risk of them getting into natural waterways and naturalizing. They could easily get established. My barrel is covered, and has small drain...

Coffee's Ready, Come and Sit on the Porch

can you give a description or pic of your wormwood, and tell me how tall it grows? I bought 3 wormwood plants this spring, and have bucket planted them b/c I know it to be invasive. Had a friend, years ago, who had some planted in front of her garden. It was very pretty. It's taken me this...

Coffee's Ready, Come and Sit on the Porch

When do you plant it? I've always planted it in the fall, b/c "they say" you need to do that in order to get big bulbs. So... how does it work to plant a fall crop among plants that are spring planted?

I have no idea what kinds of garlic I grow. But, I find it to be the easiest crop to grow. Never any pests!

Coffee's Ready, Come and Sit on the Porch

I don't think soft neck garlic makes the scapes. But, I'm only guessing, cause soft neck (AFAIK) does not grow in the north.

What did you do in the garden today?

Here's a video for you. Note the comments he makes about tilling actually resulting in decreased soil fertility.

What did you do in the garden today?

No tilling! No need to. If the soil is kept covered with mulch, there is absolutely no need to till. The soil remains soft so there is no need to till. Even large scale farmers are moving away from the practice of tilling! My tiller sits in the garage until a friend wants to borrow it...

    Organizing and decluttering the homestead

I always keep a hoe, spade, garden fork in the garden. I would waste so many steps if I didn't do that. I have mounted a plastic open ended mail box on the garden fence. It's a handy place to stick a pair of gloves, packet of seed, jar of epsom salt, clippers, ball of twine... all those...

    Organizing and decluttering the homestead

My hubby would hang me by my toes (if he could catch me) for my slothful management of tools and space!

What did you do in the garden today?

@CrealCritter I have a tiny little Contender peach tree. It is finally putting on some growth. I'll be shocked if it EVER becomes a productive member of my yard!
