The hydrant at the farm was frozen this morning. Some work had been done to it this year, and they'd planned on running a line to put in another hydrant, so they never filled the hole in. I mentioned it to RU last week. Nothing was done to it. I thought I was going to be hauling water for...
I can't get this house clean until I get rid of junk. My problem is finding the time to do it. Plus, I also have a puppy that wants to get into everything. I have made some progress, but it's slow.
It's not supposed to get above freezing now for several days. I would not mind the cold so much if I didn't have to be out in it so much. But, I have to go the farm to feed. If I didn't have someone else that can give Stormy his lunch for the rest of the week, I'd be staying out there and...
My son wore that Axe stuff as well. I couldn't stand the smell of it. I'm not sure if he's still using it or not. He moved to Florida last year, so I don't get to see him.
What amazes me is the people who won't pay $2.50 for farm fresh eggs, but will spend a ton of money on the cage free eggs in the store.
I don't have problems w/most foods that I eat, but I have to watch out for MSG. That, along w/too much salt, caffeine and many odors can trigger my Meneire's...
I know of several white pines in the area, but don't know that there's any one place that has that many. Any EWP around here were planted since they're not a native tree. Our native pines are pitch (Pinus rigida), Virginia (Pinus virginiana), and shortleaf (Pinus echinata).
I know where there's a bunch of white pine, but don't know that they want to get rid of them. The house next to my church has a whole line of them.
How far are you willing to travel?
For the horses, I have a heater for my stock tank. There's an automatic waterer in their field, but it's not set right, so it freezes solid. I'll be redoing it come spring.
For the goat, I use to have the heated water bucket. But they only lasted about 2 years, and they're expensive! So, I...
Yep. It's the first chocolate cake I've made that wasn't a mix that actually really tasted like chocolate. The icing was just buttercream icing, but I used mint flavoring instead of vanilla.
I don't know about anyone else, but I've found that cakes made w/unsweetened chocolate squares just don't seem to have enough of a chocolate flavor. I found this recipe in my Betty Crocker cookbook, but did make a few adaptions since I didn't have butter milk, and they just said to put...
Thanks! It's almost all gone. It didn't all get eaten at the party, so I've been eating a little slice, then another little slice, then another little slice....
I will make this cake again. It's actually chocolately enough for me.
I can't do Harrisburg. I used to be able to make it until they switched when it was. It was always the last weekend of February. Now they have it the first weekend of March. That's when the choir sings, and I'm the alto section. (Small church, the choir has 6 people. One tenor, 1 alto and...
