Oh, my first horse was free, and was my DD's pony. And, someone gave me a manure spreader. I think they used it 1x, and didn't like it, so they gave it to me.
Why rent when you can own? We have an electric splitter, it does a great job. And I know a few people that have the manual splitter. They say it works well.
Thanks! I thought that's what they were, but had never seen them either. So, I snapped a pic, then got out one of my wildflower id guides and looked it up.
I would burn pine if it wasn't for my hubby. He's sure that doing so is going to mess up the chimney, so I don't-except for starting a fire. But, there is so much pine in the woods next to us that it would be easy get.
Last time we ordered wood, we got cheated as well. It was supposed to be 2 cords of oak. It was only about a cord, and was very little oak. And what we did have didn't seem to heat the house that well. I couldn't even tell for sure what it was-which is rare. I seriously wonder if it might...
I've very rarely had to pay for firewood because I normally get all I can use for free, it's just a matter of keeping my eyes opened.
I've gotten several nice things "curbside shopping", including my chair in front of the fire. It had no cushion, so I did have to buy one, but that's OK. It...
She has now found my chair in front of the fire.
I've been wanting my shed moved for the longest time. But, couldn't get it moved since this junk shed was in the way.
It's gone.
Now it's just a matter of finding time to get mine down there!
Been busy since Callie came home. I have a ton to do both inside and outside, plus work. And getting her use to all kinds of things. She's getting comfortable w/the horses and chickens-she's tried to chase the chickens a few times. Plus, I've had her out in my canoe. She's at the piranha...
She's farther north than I am, and it hasn't been bad here. Saturday was a gorgeous day. We've only had a couple of light frosts. I still haven't made a fire. But, I think that's going to change today.
I would think they would! I don't have pecans here, but they're in the same family as walnuts and hickories. Both of those are excellent for firewood, so I would think the pecans are as well.
Years ago, we missed a turn while going to visit my sister in Connecticut. We ended up in NYC. What signs we could read were in both Spanish and English. The rest were covered in graffiti. We stopped at a red light and had this whole gang of teens jump out and start washing our windows...
We've been blessed in that, even w/the worst flooding in this area from a hurricane, we were not cut off and there were no evacuations. It was a bit hard to navigate as there were many roads closed, but we're high enough that it wasn't a problem. We had no water in our house. My parents had...
It's raining here, I know it's from a tropical system, I just don't know what one. I'm thankful though, that it's not as bad as Harvey. We've had 20" of rain B4 in a month, but at least it wasn't all at one time.
