Pallets are marked, telling where they originated and how theyre treated. You can look up the differences. I know a HT written in the mark means its been heat treated and safe.
Keep a spool of twine or such in it. Cut a hole thru the middle of the lid, running the end of the twine thru it to use. You could even put more than one spool in there. Just make a hole coming out of the top for each end.
I'd draw the line at washing menstrual products to reuse also. I'm all about saving money an self sustainability but I'm not scrimping on personal monthly products. They dont have to cost the most, but they'll be what works best for me, and disposable.
