I would think so! Though some fancier breeds may be housed in warmer coops, I'm not sure. And don't worry about not remembering, I'm terrible at remembering details on forums, though I'm getting better here because it's a fairly small group :)

    Cold!

Oh, can I get in on the cold competition too? lol Was a beautiful -16C (3 F) today at the warmest, had a lovely x-country ski in the woods today. Van wouldn't start this morning though after the -30 c (-22 f) night. Going to be like this all week as well. We won't talk about what happens to...

Ah, no worries about Murrays here, even if I wanted to order from a big hatchery there's no way it's cost effective to get live birds across the boarder! The local breeder/small hatchery near me sells Dorkings, so I'd probably get it from them, unless I found an even better breeder even closer...

    Organizing and decluttering the homestead

If you can believe it, I still haven't gotten the kitchen cleaned yet, and I would really love to do some organizing since most things were just placed somewhere when we moved in. It can be tough to completely clean a space that your using three times a day. One step forward, two steps back...

Mmm, that's interesting and good to know. I wasn't planning on getting Dorkings for 2018, but there are on my list for 2019. It's crazy cold now and I'd say my Brahmas are the least effected by it, though everyone seems to be doing fine. They're all big chicken breeds.

    Organizing and decluttering the homestead

Decluttering organizing: I tackled a good pile of papers last night. Today maybe I'll finally get that kitchen taken care of!

Same. Could be a regional thing. Winters are tough on most animals, I'm sure a dogs life is well extended by being indoors (as long as proper food/exercise needs are met).

Yes, our Bernese/Cattle Dog mix is a princess as well. I've tried various off the chair routines, but most of the time it's not worth the hassle :th She sometimes barks at night, not sure why, but we can't always stop her, so we put a sheet on top of our bed as well so she could lie there if she...

    Storing seeds and viability

My father has started bean seeds that my grandfather had put in the freezer for several years (not sure how long). Don't remember what the viability was, but I think it's wasn't too bad. I try to keep my seeds in a cool room or in the fridge, but over the years they haven't always gotten an...

    Frustratedearthmother's Journaling Journey

So glad you've got regular care coming in! My grandmother also had regular assisted bathing and you're right, it can be quite an ordeal so it's nice to have people come to help with that. Reading about your experience is just making me think so much about my grandparents. Even though I didn't...

    Organizing and decluttering the homestead

I still haven't tackled the (whole) kitchen mess yet, let alone getting that space decluttered and organized. But when I felt better after being sick I did a nice clean of the living room which was being overrun with animal hair. I love my pets but it takes them all of 1 hour to create hair...

I've been house-bound sick and want to get out to do some shopping, but I'm worried about the crowds. I will probably do a walmart run to get diapers, and I don't like that place on the best of days Ya for going to the butcher!

    Frustratedearthmother's Journaling Journey

For sure, and you ideally want someone who you like too (and understands the needs of your parents). My mom had various issues with staff over the years. And while the help was needed, it was stressful too to have people rotating in and out of the house. But it was totally necessary and worth it.

I'm glad someone's making progress Bee! I still haven't got the main floor mess under control yet, and today I'm sick. Just trying to rest and keep the toddler out of trouble is my main goal today.

Oh ya, I think she has placenta previa as well. She also had that with her first two but it resolved itself as well. She had to have a C-section with her first but was able to have a vbac afterwards. She's really like to avoid another c-section if possible. So glad your complications are minor...

Haha I bet! And that's great, it's no fun having interventions into your pregnancy. She's doing well (considering). Says she has to prick her finger like 40+ times a day . Her daytime numbers are fine but her morning ones kept spiking so she had to keep upping the insulin (which you don't...
