Hey everyone!
Today I am unfortunately at work but my girlfriend has just let me know that our duck egg is hatching as we speak! The first pip was about an hour or so ago and now I am sitting here patiently waiting for updates lol!
As soon as I receive any pics or updates I will post on the...
Nope! The pig ran off not long after, we tried to get it into our fenced area just so I could call around and see who's it was but had no luck.
Their fast little buggers lol.
The chicks names though are Spruce and Moo!
I thought I had pics of the 5 others we have that are almost ready to go...
Well I will be trying this, will try not to give too much after reading the earlier posts though.
If I run into anything weird I'll be sure to let everyone know.
Yeah good point! Tilapia I bet would be very interesting.
I've thought about it here but I would have to dig a pretty deep pond, temps reached -50 last year so I would need at least 30-40 feet to make sure it didn't freeze to the bottom and kill off everything, it can be done though.
I also thought of that, it never said anything in the articles I read about the bones.
I was thinking maybe filleting them in a similar way I do for when I cut it for catfish bait, but just double check to make sure there is no bones.
I've done it in the past for my parents dog ranger, he loved...
Nope can't say I've ever thought of that but thank you for the idea!
Thats a good idea you have about the creek though, what kind of fish do you think you would raise?
Hey everyone!
Quick background story.
I was doing some research on what I can feed my chickens and I ran into an article about feeding them raw fish. After reading a few different articles on it, it seems perfectly safe but for some reason it just seems so weird to me lol.
Here in Manitoba we...
Appreciate the link!
When I get home today I will look at it.
I went on the weekend to see if I could salvage that barrel I seen on my yard the previous owner left.
Turned out to be an old fuel barrel so I have decided against that idea lol.
I've never actually tried bird liver before. I've had grouse gizzard, heart, kidneys but never tried the liver, not too sure why either.
Will have to give it a shot next season.
Just found this thread.
Great buck for your first! Perfect size deer for filling the freezer.
I see people asking about the liver, did you end up giving he heart a try? Personally my favourite part, always the first thing I eat.
