Yall are funny. I hope it works out too. I was hoping to get it cleaned up this weekend, but it doesn't look like we can get a bobcat over there or anything. Plus I'm still not sure where we will take the manure yet. I know we can use some of it, but we don't have a spreader yet, still, so...
I hope that doesn't happen for a long time, FEM! LOL We have a few months, hopefully, of reasonable weather before it will get really bad. Or at least I hope that we do. We'll see what happens.
We didn't get much last night, which I was so relieved about! So that should leave things nice and dry...
This weekend was pretty good. Saturday was mostly a wash, but Sunday we were able to be really productive.
Saturday we decided to go get hay and then come back and go to Lowes to pick up the stuff for the shed floor. We set out, and stopped by Cowboy and Coyote first, and then the truck battery...
THanks for the tips, @Lazy Gardener I really appreciate it! I am prepared to get some of that information from the garden center, and I don't know that we'll be getting any major trees yet. What I mostly want at this point is a plan so we know what direction to go in. I also want to bounce ideas...
I'm with you all, I wish it would just die!! I'm STILL dragging, and it's now Thursday.
@Lazy Gardener that's very interesting! I'm amazed that most of the world did it for so long, but many of them have already stopped doing it.
Not much to report, really. Things are still grooving along. I...
Really cool, @sumi
This daylight saving crap is annoying. I struggle so much when the time changes. And yesterday there was a really big accident involving a tractor trailer that didn't stop for a red light, and hit the cars already waiting at the light. 2 people were killed, including a 7...
@sumi that sounds awesome! Thanks for the tip!
The weekend went pretty good. I actually had Saturday completely off. I didn't need to go to any barns! It was AMAZING! The BF and I had a relaxed morning, I can't wait until that becomes the norm. His brother came up with a load of stuff from the...
My week has been great! This morning I got to drive to the office like a normal person and didn't have to change clothes when I got here! What a novelty!
Yesterday I never left the house! It was fantastic! I even made the BF bring in the mail when he got home. :plbb I got SO much done...
@baymule yes he is!! He really surprised me this time, which was so lovely! He doesn't always do things like that, so it was really nice and way out of his way to help me. I'm so grateful that he did! And I love my little pouches and stuff for my laptop, it's so cute!
I paid his credit card...
Thanks FEM.
The expo was good, it ran very smoothly, with a couple of very minor exceptions. I was pleased with how easily everything went through. She let me go an hour early, and while I hated to loose the time, I was relieved that I was able to start down the road before the roads got bad...
@baymule I'm looking forward to that sooner rather than later, too!! I don't plan to wait until I retire, I plan to make that happen as a way of life! But it's not here yet, so here I am.
SR got home, and I got the check from him, which was nice. That helped get March's bills squared away...
:hugs The waves of grief will wash over you at the most unexpected moments, but they will eventually begin to settle. Some days it will feel like they'll never end. I'm glad it was a beautiful experience, though, that makes all the difference. Sending lots of love.
@baymule that is appreciated!! A lot of people who shouldn't be driving do drive in the snow here, too, and it is frustrating to have to work around them when they have issues. Of course half of the trouble is employers not wanting employees to stay home, so people feel pressured to drive, and...
FEM, you do learn after you've dealt with it for so long, LOL. I'm sure there's things you know about the weather and environment where you are that you just know because you've lived with it for so long. Everybody has to figure it out. And with snow/ice it is easy to make a mistake though...
Yeah... pretty much.
Caring for the chickens while SR is away guarantees two things... I'll be exhausted, and the weather will be a pain in the butt. Both of which are happening right now. Having to carry the water jugs to the coops really strains my hands and arms, and with the slippery...
@baymule yes, it gets a bit depressing. I still think the snow is pretty so that makes it sort of ok.
We got almost 6" of mostly snow yesterday early am through overnight last night. Now it's doing some sort of rain thing, which will probably be freezing rain, which is NOT fun. My day today is...
Ehh, you really do get used to it. It sounds crazy, but you do. And, honestly, once you get down to a certain point, it all feels the same. Really. Once it's below about 12 or so, it's just cold, and that's all there is to it.
We survived, no big deal, really. You figure out your routine, you...
That's a thought, it's not cheap here, but it is a thought, @sumi We don't have peat here, though. We're doing a little better with it, the other trick I learned is to make sure that I start it, and load it up pretty full, and then reload it before I turn down the dampers and close the door...
Chickens wrapped up without too much fanfare. It was raining on Thursday, and rained pretty dang hard. I let them out anyway because it got really warm in the process, and the rain eventually did quit that afternoon.
Friday I had my appointment with my accountant, and she was late, which was a...
