    Are You....

I wouldn't say I was necessarily offended by what she wrote, but it just seems a little out of place on this forum (along w/ some other comments she made that day on other threads). But, I've only been coming here for a couple months, and never really had any intereaction with the OP, so I...

Calendula - Son may have Tourette's

The kids are still gone on their trip. It's really wierd not having them here. But a nice break too; it got pretty wild here last night...I ate dinner in front of the TV. I'm such a rebel. Well, not much else going on around here. The chickens are being chicken-y, the garden is...

    Deficit Issue

I think it will be difficult to reduce the size of the government because there are so many people out there who want it to be this way. They want someone to take care of them, and make a bajillion laws to "protect" them. I just got into a very heated discussion with my cousin's wife about...

    JRmom - Garden is in!

So sorry to hear you got broken into. I agree, this world is going to h*ll! There was an event at our elementary school, and a bunch of cars in the parking lot got their windows smashed and stuff stolen out of them. Then, a couple weeks later, the same thing happened at a local baseball game...

Bimpnottin's Journal - OFG: Bacon scarf

I've been getting those little green worms on my cabbage and kale. I pick off all that I can find and feed them to the chickens, and I have been spraying my plants with a homemade "pesticide" but I don't know how much good it's doing. I think I have better luck just checking the plants every...

    Soap Making 101

What types of fat did you use and how much aggieterpkatie? The texture of your soap reminds me of a batch I made once. I had added suet to it, and big a proportion of it compared to the other fats, so it wound up being very hard and crumbly.

My in-laws are talking about growing some wild rice. They have a swampy area next to their house they think might work.

Calendula - Son may have Tourette's

We have had so much rain this summer. The garden is starting to get swampy! In one section of the garden, I sunk into the mud up to my ankles. The only thing I'm worried about is the potatoes rotting. Otherwise, everything else seems to be enjoying this rain. I found some cucumbers that I...
