They still make the 6x6 ones, but I think they start at 11k or 12k and though I could see that being really useful I didn't think it was right for my needs or economically smart, but I can totally see the worth.
Once I got home I realized my main trailer can't hook up right away, so I need a 1...
We have three. First is a Peking duck that made a nest out in the high thistle and milkweed. That'll be cute.
The other two are chickens, which I don't knoa the variety of. One is out in the thistle and milkweed and the other is sitting on FAKE EGGS in the "food coop" (in winter we use...
Brought this home today. It's been 20 years since I have been on one. Wow, this is fast and powerful. Absolutely going to help me get stuff done faster
I really wish I didn't have to take a loan, since I'm trying to get out of some credit card debt from car repair ****, but if I don't do this I think I will regret it and I don't want to wait since product quantities are already low and with Covid it might get worst if we have to go into another...
Thanks. Those UTVs are really expensive. I get the point, if you're going to really really use them and take them hunting or whatever, but after you add in all the bells and whistles it's the price of a new car :/. If you like that little truck that's great. My buddy keeps saying I should get...
Two years ago I was on another BWCA trip where it rained the entire time. Horrid winds and driving rain for 4 or 5 days with a scattering of sun in there. At our exit point we ran into a family (mom, dad & 3 kids) who were up from Colorado. The looks on the mom and kids' faces were priceless...
Hijacking my own thread here ;)
@wyoDreamer so, from a mileage perspective the trip wasn't really long, but the highlights of the trip from a sheer craziness aspect were...
1) The 626 rod (basically 2 miles) portage at the top of the screen. The last 2/3 were easier than the first 1/3, but...
Yes, the BWCA. We had a good time, though there were a lot of folks out there which caused us to have to portage more than we wanted one of the days.
One of our portages was a 2 mile one. Whew! :)
I made a point to get my current riding mower with a welded deck instead of a stamped one. I think it's pId off so far in just not damaging it.
I've been lookijg at a Toro Titan. My neighbor has one and love it. He also knew a guy that worked for Toro, so he got it wholesale. The bastard 🤑
Took a little work to get it running but at 2pm today they were able to take it for some rounds up and down the driveway while my wife tried not to look.
I need to adjust the carb a bit, but overall this is good for me as well so I can get more experience with small engines
Yeah, I saw the application restrictions on amount per year were pretty hard.
This is more for my prairie and yard and not near my garden. I'm too "organic" to spray stuff like that right in or near my garden. I spend may and June pulling all the thistle by hand before resorting to any chems.
There's a local business here that will rent out their goats for dealing with invasives, often buckthorn
We don't have the ability to keep goats or horses right now
I spot spray as well. I'm trying to restore this to prairie land and have a lot of prairie grasses and wildflowers at different stages of development, so I don't want to kill them.
Well, I welcome folks to come help me pull thistle on my property :). I do what I can manually all over, but with 10 acres, 5 kids, job and tree farm activities there just aren't enough hours in the day and, so chems are a last resort.
so I've heard not to use 2,4-D over 90° (85° for arguments sake). Is that "don't use period over 90 because it's ineffective" or "don't use on your lawn over 90 because it'll kill any grass as well"?
I'm planning to use it on thistle, curly dock, ... around the prairie, so grass isn't my...
well, my wife gave me the go-ahead to use a significant amount of cash from our House acct after the deck is done being built. So, that expands my budget into that 4k range and makes it obtainable to get what will be useful for us without regretting the purchase. I hate note spending what you...
