No tractor here. All I have is my mower (garden tractor) and a trailer that can fit 10 5 gal buckets. It would just be nice to get an ATV or something to use and then get a zero-turn mower with a wider deck than 48" so my mowing could take less than 3 hours :/
Also, an ATV would be faster...
My neighbor bought a Polaris Ranger. It is nice and the bed is actually bigger than it looks, but it seems a bit beefy for what I need, plus it's not exactly small or even mid-sized. I feel if I was going that route I should just go look for an old Willy's, especially considering the price...
Something like this: https://atv.polaris.com/en-us/sportsman-6x6-570/
Seems like a JD Gator, but a bit different. Maybe a bit more back country versatile
I've never bought an ATV and I've ridden one maybe 10 times total, but I think getting one to use for my work would be good and reduce my leaning on my garden tractor so much, which would also allow me to at some point sell my rider and get a zero turn mower with a wider deck, which would also...
yeah, shipping on these tanks is spendy, since it's freight, so a 1000 gal tank would be around $800-$900 after shipping.
Now I just need to clean it (pressure washer on the inside I'm thinking)
I currently have a 550 gal tank for my 175 potted trees, but am expanding that to 400 over the next few years and knew I would need a larger tank. Getting this will allow me to either just replace the current one or sister them together, but that's a next year worry
I asked this over on TEG but figured I'd ask it here too
Looking for a mechanical electrical timer, like the one Orbit makes for hoses. Anyone know of one?
I have a 550 gal water tank that feeds my 10 rows of potted trees via a large pump. I usually turn on a row or two for 20 min or so, but...
Yep. Ha. I'm planting Catalpa, Willow, poplar, oaks, kentucky coffee, buckeye, sycamore, hickory and others.
I'm fine using methods I have been, but I was just curious if someone else highly suggested a piece of software that they've used for a similar purpose.
There's obviously things like...
no, this is for personal trees around the property. It's more just about landscape planning as I choose what should go where as I'm restoring prairie land and choosing placement for trees.
HAHA. I tried to get my wife to help with doing that for amur maple. She was not enthused.
I was thinking about just cutting branches and spray painting the end few inches different colors depending on the desired species and pounding that into the ground where I wanted a type of tree...
Just seeing if someone has found a rather easy software to approach that.
All my property used to be farmland but the previous owners did plant black walnut, honey locust, birch, silver maple and amur maple. I'm looking to cut down a lot of the amur maple over time and restore the prairie in...
Anyone try mapping/inventory or planning out tree locations for your property via some mapping software on your phone or a tablet?
Looking to see if there's something else out there for home/farm owners that isn't heavy into arboriculture with 95 points of interest to track per tree. I might...
It's frankly amazing that many creatures survive the winters up here when it's dropping past -30. I know bats can move towards caves or human structures, but it's still crazy.
Hey everyone,
So I think the topic was touched on in the Mosquito..be gone... thread, but I thought a more specific thread would be helpful on the topic of bat houses.
I have seen them up on poles and on barns but honestly never really looked into building/buying/posting a bat house until...
