    Tons of great ideas here want to start my own Er rations as well will be taking these ideas.. What about hitting up the asia stores and getting the dehydrated shrimps and tofu? These would allow more options and are loaded with protein as well.

    I can't image the fight that went on when the Queen went for the kids and I HAVE seen a mare try to steal another's baby (her's was a still born) and OMG that fight was terrible so we ended up skinning the baby and wrapped it around an orphaned mule baby and then she was happy).

    HUGS to EVERYONE!!! When I start getting discouraged and overwhelmed I come to sites like this one and talk/read with others who are doing what Im doing/dreaming of doing and remember that Rome wasn't built in a day and neither will my homestead.     Thank you for the compost info I have wondered about doing that in my coop for years but everything I read argued against it. o_O I thought it would come out like yours is so good to know am planning this for this year.

    Yep I just started got my first rabbit a Tori Angora Doe on Wed, now on the market for a White Buck and a few more different colored Angoras Does. We will also be keeping Rex Standard for Meat and Show as well. I discovered this site from BYC and BYHs :)
