    Got a big doe....

:somad What a waste. I got a good pound of meat cooking the ribs and a couple of pounds from the neck. Cook it right and it's good for tacos, BBQ, tamales, etc.

    Recycle those wood ashes

I'm pretty sure that ash from wood burning is basic. You can use ash to make lye and lye is a base, correct? If you add ash to soil that is basic you can make the soil more basic which may not be good for growing plants. If you add ash to soil that is acidic you can make it less acidic or...

Horse Slaugher Now Legal for Human Consumption

I don't have a problem with it. I think it is a cultural and emotional issue for most of us Americans. I ate zebra when was in Kenya and I found it pretty good, much better than crocodile.

Avacados.... what to do with them

Don't forget the bacon on those sandwiches. They are good in tacos. Eat them plain. They aren't slimy, especially compared to cooked okra. I don't know about smoothies. Ask tankshill, she lives next to avocado country.

    Lorihadams-- hi guys...been busy!

Congrats on the bunnies. I suggest that you plan on only keeping one buck. One buck will easily take care of three does. That will also give you another cage for growing out the rabbits destined for the freezer.

    Dacjohns--Changes

Idaho Falls isn't as depressed as many other areas. A lot of people are moving there and there appears to be quite a few new businesses and housing developments.

    Cooking on a wood stove

I don't have a wood cookstove but I have cooked on one a few times. I would love to have one because of my childhood and later memories of using one in a cabin in Alaska. There is a learning curve and I'm pretty sure each stove will have it's own peculiarities. Fast hot fires for frying and...

    Sufficient Self Forum - Let's have a heart-to-heart

Damummis said something I would like to address. When threads are taken down it would be really nice and a polite thing to explain to the OP why the action was taken. I have had threads on BYC taken down with no explanation, even after PMing a mod. I got no response from the mod at all. To...
