Agreed. Forget about paying them. Find a better friend or neighbor who is responsible and will do it on an chicken/pet sitting exchange agreement. I would not count on kids caring for my animals. I have three of them so I can say that from personal experience :P

Found an ad on Freecycle for free organic plums a few days ago. Came home with maybe 10 or 15 pounds for my pigs and chickens. The guy that we got them from just emailed me and asked me if I could come over as long as the plums are producing fruit and pick up as many as I possibly can :) Yay!
