Yum!:drool @baymule those peas look wonderful! Fresh garden peas are probably my favorite garden crop. Those weeds sure do seem to like your improved garden soil! :lol:I've had to "mow" my garden weeds down too before I could get it ready for planting. I did better this last year by covering it...

I throw everything in with the chickens and compost using Deep Litter. Weeds, grass clilpings, dead leaves, small branches, everything gets thrown in there, and the chickens do all the stirring. In the spring, I put it in the garden, and start over. Just make sure you get some moisture in there...
Hi Jeff, I hadn't yet but was planning to. My chickens free range and eat frogs, lizards, small snakes, all kinds of kitchen scraps including every type of meat or fish we toss out.
