    sumi, I am sort of new here and really don't know you. So tell us if you water bath can things and if you have ever pressure canned anything. When you say from start to finish could mean a large amount to teach. All the above comments give you great advice if you have canned "something" before.

    I have this very heavy netting that goes over the whole chain link area, where the chickens run, to protect them. I have seen hawks fly over them and swoop down to try to get them without success..

    Great pics. It's really nice to see others pets....I too, have to protect my chickens from some of those critters....I have electric fences that really work. We have found very very large droppings where a bear intestinal muscles didn't work while hitting the fence... My chickens are also locked...

    @frustratedearthmother No I don't produce that many chicks....12 or 20 of some.....I get the most our of my Serama chickens. I always save out the shortest ones and get rid of the tallest ones....

    I have been doing this for 5 years now. I do ok with it.....Everyone loves them.....I sell out every week....no one comes to my house for don't want lots of traffic coming and going all week. I just do it all in one day with no one visiting me....

    I get 100 eggs a day...50 to 60 dozen eggs get washed and hand delivered to my 50 customers each week. Everyone doesn't order each week and some get allot every week but it all averages out for me....Delivery takes about 4 hours....

    Thanks everyone... my hubby really doesn't have great skills. When we first got married he told me he only can do rough wood working and he doesn't do toilets....:bow I will keep doing the toilets if he keeps doing these rough wood working things.....:thumbsup :lol::lol::lol:
