Neat stuff. I've had tomatoes and potatoes in since early March, finally got last year's corn patch out from under the compost pile, but it's not turned, and nothing is planted there yet. Will be yellow crookneck squash and zucchini, sweet peppers, maybe a pumpkin vine or 2, and sweet potatoes...

The idea of bees, and the stack of 20 hives and medium supers in my dining room, are diverse threads. The idea doesn't involve labor. The bees do not do all the work.... Happy anniversary to your parents! Gypsi

I've had vinegar in my eyes before - I used it years ago for conditioner - it was painful. What do I do with my honey? First I have to get some. Our drought killed the forage and starved the bees last year. Mine lasted until the first week of October when they were robbed out by a hungry and...

Here you go: http://www.backyardchickens.com/a/gypsis-chicken-coop Not updated too recently. The new hen arrangement is much much better. The older hens had my americaunas outnumbered and were hogging the food, and not letting them in the pen when I tried to pen them. On the dog shelter...

check shelters, and BE PICKY. But while my rott mix is occasionally a nuisance and often a klutz, I can leave him loose in the house and know he won't touch the cat chow. ( and I know he loves cat chow) He has no interest in my hens, GREAT interest in possums. I pulled him off death row at 18...

My last wedding was 3 phase. Handfasting only, 2nd handfasting a year later, fancier. With many friends, Followed by a Christian wedding in hubby's grandmothers living room 2 days later, totally informal, I was Barefoot. Lasted 13 years. If 3 didn't take I don't think I'm cut out for marriage.

    Meat chicken how-to?

Wow, that was one of the most interesting things I have ever done. All 3 had widespread pelvic bones indicating they were laying at this time. 1 of the 3 hens had huge amounts of fat along her rear, she was full of egg yolks in varying stages of development, probably was laying normally, and...
