LOL.... Not sure if you meant me or not, but I had a hatch of 5 from another broody 10 days before the 'bator hatch. Plus I bought 7 chicks of breeds I wanted in between. So I have 30 chicks plus how ever many the broody hatches! If I kept them all is would almost double my flock! I'm looking...
Actually, if you can get them to "started pullet" stage you can get more for them. I often see people looking for started pullets. I have a gal that wanted chicks but has no way to set up a brooder (she has a coop). I'm feathering out 12 for her and charging $1.00 extra each.
I re-freeze meat and fish all the time. My DH works for a restaurant supply Co. So I get allot of things in big bulk packages. It' s best if they are thawed just enough to break apart but, doesn't always happen that way. I have found weather freezing or re-freezing the important thing is to get...
I hope I'm not jinxing myself but.... I've been very lucky with mine! They free range with the chickens in a 1 1/2 acre fenced yard. They do get out sometimes but come home to roost with the chickens. Sometimes they get "stuck" on the other side of the fence and don't realize if they flew over...
I had a young roo once that was attacking the hens.... I gave him away. She kept him penned up until he got a little older and realized what hens were for! LOL turned out to be a good roo, just had to get past the "awkward" stage.
I got 18 out of my first incubator hatch! Better than I...
True, this would be very damaging to our nation as a whole. My kids were brought up doing chores and as soon as they could find paying jobs, they did! Their employes were always very happy with the and when it was time to move on they got great recommendations! My second son worked for one of...
Sounds like what I get now and then, I get it under my breasts too. I use store brand stuff for yeast infections. I did use some of the herbal remedies too but they seemed to take longer.
That seems like allot of to me too... but if you do them in "batches" guess it's not so bad. My son is building me a plucker... I still have to come up with the cash for the figures. Still, we can build it for about $150.
I would look for a small canner. The more you use it, the more you will think of things to use it for! I plan on canning some chicken this year, just because it's convenient for quick meals. Canned venison or even tough cuts of beef are great canned and used for quick stews and other dishes...

Remember, MOST of the time you are not going to want chicken "help" in the garden so plan on a fence. They like seeds, tender young plants and will "sample" tomatoes, cabbage, melons and anything else that looks tasty to them. I let mine in for a while when...
It only takes 24 to 26 hours to make an egg. So no matter if your hen lays once a day or once a week. Any eggs after a day should be his.
Cheerio... how's your hen?
Congrats on the sales!
Now days I scrape off what I can and put it in the dishwasher. Sometimes it has to go twice. Before the dishwasher I used my canning pot a boiled waxy equipment. Let the water and "stuff" cool in the pot. The wax will float on the top and harden. Skim it off, then take out your items.
Tatters! Fancy meeting you here!
I guess the "other forum" isn't the best place to discuss herbal matters... as a rule I don't either. I think there may be 1 or 2 other people there that may be though.
My "Bible" for picking or "wildcrafting" is Peterson Field Guides, Eastern/Central Medicinal...
