Yes! The mountains really are beautiful. We are surrounded on 3 sides by them. That's one of the reasons we have so much wind; it comes racing down from the North and right into this basin. As soon as I get a decent camera, y'all are gonna be sick of seeing desert pics!! :gig

Here are some pics of the chicken yard. It is just temporary, but I am happy with it and the chickens love it! I don't know if you can really see it in this pic, but one of these girl's butts is anything but fluffy! Do you think the feathers will ever grow back? I found a better pic...

The Google maps image of my place is from before we bought it. I think it is at least 10 yrs old.

Another problem is that they rarely roost in the coop. Most nights they roost right out in the run and with all the ambient light from the "Old Man's" house and the moon, it's not really dark. Oh well, I'll give it a try and hope for the best.

The pen she is in shares a common wall. In the first pic, the far left end is her pen. The second pic is looking through her pen into the main run. So they see each other all the time.

Anyone have any experience placing a quarantined bird back in with the flock? I have one hen that was being pecked relentlessly and I need to put her back with the others. I need the quarantine coop for new additions. I have tried putting them together away from the main run in the hope...
