Coffee's Ready, Come and Sit on the Porch

I wish I had some random guineas show up. The neighbors ran out 2 summers ago. They spent years with less than 20 in the early spring then over 40 then dwindle back down. I hope the critters don't get'em I'll try and leave early. I'm always late the day I leave spending those few more minutes...

Coffee's Ready, Come and Sit on the Porch

I may be near you again @CrealCritter next Fri. Will be going across MO 60, KY I-24 headed to VA. Only problem is I know me and I always leave late. Part of why I'm going to try to leave Fri instead of Sat.

Coffee's Ready, Come and Sit on the Porch

Good day SS. 24 this morning with 14 for the wind chill. Supposed to be a lovely 17 tomorrow. We may have to implement that. We home school and they are very driven by breakfast. They usually want their cereal as soon as the sleep gets out of their eyes.

They can make good alert dogs. During the day they are quick to fly up and set off that alarm when dogs, cats, coyotes,.... show up. At night they are about as defenseless as a chicken. I should get some more.

Coffee's Ready, Come and Sit on the Porch

This is what most reloaders say as well. It IS much cheaper per shot but.... One of the neighbors. They can travel a pretty good distance. When my neighbors had some, they would go all over town. I would throw out scratch in the pasture so they would make it a stop on their way. I don't think...

How to make your home feel warmer (without turning up the heat)

We also put the clear plastic over the windows. (ours are very drafty) The hat is an excellent way to stay warmer. An old (German?) saying. If your feet are cold put on a hat. I think it comes from several old world places.

Coffee's Ready, Come and Sit on the Porch

I had a chiropractor set me up with 2 wedges to fix my walk and another on one side, for the height, because of one leg being longer than the other. It helped. I just wish I could get the same ones again. She said she couldn't believe nobody gave me some before. And nobody has since, even...

Coffee's Ready, Come and Sit on the Porch

A lot of those places have the electric wheel chairs for a REASON. It's for the customers. Even I've used them. I think it had something to do with a bike, 85mph and my head. I thought it was funny when the old Wal-Mart greeter suggested I use one. But I was in worse shape than him.

Coffee's Ready, Come and Sit on the Porch

Good morning all. Here's a cup of coffee @Baymule.🍻;) I hope everyone has a blessed day. We are supposed to finally get some much, much needed rain. It would've helped a little more to get it before the frost.

What did you do in your garden today?

I should've jumped on here and asked, but I didn't. It worked out though @Trying2keepitReal answered my question anyway without me asking.

    Sufficient Self members with Poultry!

I like your set up just the way it is T2Real. In the coop I just leave them be, in the tractor the same. I put a little waterer and chick starter just like you have, and it doesn't seem to help much, the broodys usually have them out eating as soon as they are ready. I don't even stop free...

What did you do in your garden today?

Thanks. Needing to dump the ash bucket a few days ago, I was asking the wife which way it changed the acidity and which way did the blueberries need. I knew wood ash was opposite of coffee grounds but couldn't remember which one the blueberries needed. Now I know.

Coffee's Ready, Come and Sit on the Porch

Good morning all. Thanks for the coffee bay. :hugs🙏 I'm right there with ya. We are supposed to get rain tomorrow, finally. Should have started digging out a pond weeks ago. It may happen today instead of Church. I know Church should be 1st and I'm not feeling to hot anyway. Amen. ALWAYS...

Coffee's Ready, Come and Sit on the Porch

Sorry to hear about Sentry @baymule. It won't help them keep it down but I've always used cheese to get them to swallow the pill. A quarter half a slice of american squished around it. I don't know if they'd just not drink if in the water but you can syringe down easy when it's liquid.

Coffee's Ready, Come and Sit on the Porch

Good morning all. On the waiting and for me simply going to town. A while back I waited a couple of years to get glasses after mine were to messed up to see through just because I didn't want to go to town and really didn't want to go to town and wait. Has anyone priced a set of encyclopedia's...

Quite a bit of info on that site. I'm still reading on some of the planting, getting ready for what I can do for the winter garden.

What did you do in your garden today?

I got the potted "camper" tomatoes in the house before the big freeze. Don't know how much they will perk up but they are still producing. Well 2 outta 3. I think the one never fully recovered from being home in July and the intense heat.

The Mr. Buddy's with a 30lb (camper trailer size) can make a great short term fix. I've used one in the horse trailer and had to crack the door that goes to the back on a 28 degree night. You can get a 4', 6' up to 12' adapter hose.
