I worked...am on for another 8 mins. I'd rather be canning or in the garden, but while that saves money it doesn't make any.
Where do y'all sell your canned goods? Around here you have to be inspected to get a license and it's an enormous PITA.
You could mix them in with some tasty, tart apples like Granny Smith of MacIntosh and make applesauce. You might try a small batch of apple butter, too...once they're cooked down, it might concentrate the flavor more, and with the spices, it could end up being pretty decent.
Doc did the town run before that project and checked out the new health food store in Highland, looking for Bragg ACV and Kombucha. No luck with either one. I figured Kombucha was too weird for this area so I'm not suprised on that one but apparently there is a shortage of organic ACV due to a...
Mealworms are going to be a project here as well, as soon as the canning's all done and the garden put to bed for the winter. I like to give my girls plenty of protein as well...I've noticed if I miss for a week or so we get smaller eggs. I give them homemade yogurt a couple times a week, any...

Pretty eggs! Look just like mine :) Wow, the going rate there is less than here...I sell mine for $3/dz but I've seen them listed for as much as $4.50, which I think is ridiculous. Even in the grocery store, the "free range organic" (yeah, right) eggs go for about $3 a dozen so I guess that...
That's awesome! I would love to get a group together locally who want to barter...it's so much better than putting an arbitrary price on something. Everybody gets what they need...how much better can it get?
Found a posting on CL for free apples and peaches...and the lady even dropped them off! So got a nice bag full of gorgeous big apples and another of tiny little peaches and didn't even have to fire up the car to go get 'em.
Thank goodness it's not worse. Carrying that extra weight has to add to her discomfort too, poor baby. Hope the farrier can get out and provide a bit more relief for both of you soon.
