Acres USA and Countryside and Small Stock Journal are two excellent replacement mags. Friends who go way back with MEN tell me the latter is what Mother Earth News used to be. MEN still has some good articles, though, but I read those at the library for free.

It's my dogs' job to deter and protect. One of the tools they use for that is barking. When I hear it, I know they are doing their job. But I still feel for those of you it bothers.
