Here's the text if the link isn't good......
Adorable approximately 6 year old dexter cow and 9 month old dexter/zebu (Zedex) cross hieffer. Just saw the vet for vaccines (including Bangs), worming, dehorned heiffer. Out on good pasture -...
Dawn--it's legal here, I'm not sure how much you're allowed but my neighbor's garden puts my veggies to shame!
Anyway, we've been joking about how much the goats or chickens might eat if they got over there. And then joking about eating the chicken eggs the next day!
Soo........way off topic...
I'm in southern Oregon, you can guess what I thought of "growing" indoors! Then again, our neighbor has a thriving outdoor crop. We've been wondering, if our goats happen to hop the fence, do they eat pot plants? Anyone have experience with this?
I was just cruising back through this and reading about not peeling tomatos.........I'm glad I'm not the only one who's started skipping this! I'd wondered if there was a "reason", or just asthetics. I've decided we're fine with peels, so that's one big step gone from the prep stage.
I knew I'm not the only one that does that! My sister and I complement each other perfectly--she loves the cake but not the icing, I see cake only as a socially acceptable way to eat icing. We share :D
Summer squashes are pretty much spent, and at this point I'm okay with that. I have squash in every way, shape and form. Now, I'm just letting them grow and will pick those huge things to feed to the animals. My dogs see the goats eat squash so of course they think they have to have some lol...
I've since left the job I started this thread about and am working for another home health company, hourly. I have to admit I was rocking the salary thing! It didn't work well for everyone, but my territory was pretty small and I've always been fast with my paperwork. So, while I lost some on...
Me too, mostly cause I'm a chicken and don't know if I'd die to protect him. Where I know full in my heart he'd not think twice before giving his life to protect/defend me.
Okay, he's probably getting lucky tonight lol.
Just another vote for the Toyotas. I have an 00 corolla, 168 000 miles on it, it's never let me down. I did get stuck once trying to see a patient who lives on top of a mountain where there's no power, but that was kinda my own stupid fault. Baby's never died on me, my honey can do a lot of the...
Well I didn't mean to turn this into a diet debate, but hunter-gatherers do actually gather more than they hunt, plants are pretty much always around. I've done a lot of research on this.............it's common misconception it's an all meat diet, that's just not true. Plus eggs, nuts, fruit...
Check out Mark's Daily Apple for more primal info. It's commonly called a caveman diet--eating like a hunter-gatherer.
I actually eat a lot more veggies than meat.
A lot of folks who eat a primal/paleo type diet find their skin clears up. Worked for me and my ds13. In fact, I can tell when he eats something grain or sugar cause the next day he's broke out.
Then again, he can tell if I've done the same  Keeps mom honest on her diet, let me tell...
I finally found a source about 40 min away, I have to drive there once a week cause it's only legal here (Oregon) to buy it on the farm. I think it's a bargain at $5 a gallon, they have jerseys and jersey/dexter crosses. I don't tell my honey, but I'm currently getting a little extra to feed to...
This isn't mine, it's from a post just a few down from yours. Just thought it bears repeating.
Article - What should a 4 year old know? by Alicia Bayer
I was on a parenting bulletin board recently and read a post by a mother who was worried that her 4 1/2 year old did not know enough. "What...
Have you posted pics of your cornish cross anywhere? At five weeks they should be LOTS bigger than that, like double that size. Even with free ranging, they're too small. Makes me wonder if you really have meaties. I've seen folks on byc think they had cx and turned out they were leghorns. You...
Your cragislist sure doesn't have them much. They're all over here! So, do you really need registered? That would be the first thing to go, IMO. And I'd look into a different breed, one more available in the area and one that gives more milk, if you're going to try to make a profit from the...
