Guuuurrrrrlllll, uh-hmmm.....
I'm right there with ya.... We had this "conversation" just a couple of nights ago - for the 3,952nd time. I so often feel that I'm the only adult in the house. That being said:
I divorced my first husband after years of saying "I have three kids - the oldest...
This is not a great picture.
When my mom died, I had found in her sewing room a pair of pants that she started. This is those - re-purposed to my clothes pin apron. You can't see the extra long ties so it would go around a coat in the winter. I also keep a pair of dollar store gloves with...
I had a similar experience many moons ago. Remember the Frostline kits (vests, tents, backpacks, etc) that were popular in the 70's? I made a rip-stop down vest and my electric machine at the time couldn't go through it. My 1890 White Treadle made short work of it, though.
I think the Washington DC Mormon Temple has gone to all LED's in their display. Pictures of it are at http://dc.about.com/od/christmasphotos/ss/MormonTempleLts.htm
In this economy companies can't afford terrible customer service. Go back to them and ask for replacement.
Okay, wanted to let everyone know about the air-powered wood splitter test run.
We ordered our splitter from http://www.westcoastminisplitter.com/ . I had read someone's review on that company in a diy forum while I was researching these on-line. We ordered the 12-ton version (which was...
OH yeah! :weee The fuel oil company came for their watch dog delivery and it was 5.2 gallons (FIVE POINT TWO) to fill 'er up. We fired up our woodstove on October 19.
Last year we bought over 600 gallons for the season (over a couple o' thousand bucks worth).
Century Woodstove with...
miss_thenorth - Sure - I'll get a snap of it. It's actually pretty funky but it's doing the job. Makes me feel all Laura Ingalls Wilder. :lau
FarmerChick - I have the OTHER kind of clothespin. When I moved in the clothesline had pins on it - the spring kind - but little by little in the...

1. To cheat the power company of kilowats.
2. Exercise (bend and s-t-r-e-t-c-h).
3. Fresh air instead of that weird dryer air.
4. Show off my totally hot clothespin apron.

I'm not a beekeeper (yet) but I've been looking into this. I found one place that sells them but they are really sort of expensive - I thought ($275 or $350 for the "shorter" type).
I was thinking of posting a barter on craig's list - to barter future honey for hive construction - because...
I use an 1890 White treadle machine. Works like a dream, though I have to say I don't often use the "tucker" attachments.
Electronics at Walmart...they contract with "name" manufacturers for the cheaped out versions of "real" product to sell in their stores.
Mine is similar to some others' here but I call it Garbage Soup. I had been calling it that for years when I saw the name used in a Rosamund Pilcher novel Winter Solstice.
Anyway, it's similar to those who pull the left-overs out of the frig...with one difference...instead of having those...
Hi there. I'm Jenna and a newbee here. I live in Frederick, MD.
I'm going to get some chickens this spring and I just registered today for a beekeeping course - YAY! I want to start some raspberries and blueberries, too.
I've been involved in simplicity and self-sufficiency all my life -...
