1 down 179 to go..........
Walked into the elementary school for the first time this year, having been at meetings at the HS all last week. I check my mailbox, got the computer hooked back up and running then went to the front lobby to help greet students and make sure they knew where they were...
Here too. We have 3 dogs but the Golden always seems to suffer the most. We have to do monthly flea treaments but it just isn't enough! We give him Benadryl but I wish I had a permanent solution. So frustrating and he just seems down all the time. Probably from the Benadryl.
DH and I did king crab platters in Alaska about 12 years ago. I remember it was $35 each plus we had drinks. There 8-10 of us at the table. I didn't see the final bill, we just split it.
I was gonna but then that dang storm blew through. I did some garden clean up and will get to it hopefully this week. Back to school tomorrow! I really just want to replant some greens and get in my garlic for next year.
Ham rolled around goat cheese and thinly slice pepper-check. Apple rabbits-check. Star shaped pepper chunks-check. Egg molded to look like a fish-check. Chocolate almond milk-check. Who says school lunches are more fun that homemade????
As of 6:40pm my parents got their power back. They are a...
Nature of my particular job I guess. The guidance department was still fine tuning student schedules on Friday so there isn't a lot of point to the Speech department looking at them and trying to create our schedule of when to pull kids out of classes for services. We make our own schedules...
I actually did that. My MIL, who has her weird moments about our animals too (I'll share the "don't look the monkey in the eye story someday.....) was very concerned about my dietary changes and the fact that I eat bacon, red meat, butter, full fat dairy, etc. So I showed her the blood work...
Our local weather peoples are telling us they believe Katia will hang a right and miss us. Lee may bring us some rain tomorrow night I believe. We are actually a little dry here in the eastern part of CT. We got the wind from Irene more than rain.
Much less practical but I have used them to line the open seat of an old chair (one that needs its seat fixed with either caning or a cushion) and then line it with moss, fill with soil and plant with flowers. This one was done with chicken wire but it shows what I mean. (Not my work....)
We did get all DS's supplies. In fact we ran into his teacher at Staples while doing it which was kind of amusing. He's got uniforms and new black sneakers. He could use some new socks. Maybe tomorrow.
Other than that, no I'm really not ready. I'm not in the right mind set. Partly it was not...
Hmmmm, I've begun some that need improvement/expansion, like cheese making, knitting, sewing, quilting. Some brand news one would be: making my own jerky, spinning, horseback riding, speaking Spanish and Russian and soap making!
DS has been bugging us for a kitten. Too bad they turn into cats and he will lose interest. It's been over 20 years since we've had a kitten here. I still have scars....
My poor parents are still waiting! 1202 people in our town still out. At least they can now come over here to shower and use the Internet. I feel so bad for them!
