"My Wife is an Animal Lover"

My 4 year old has the opposite problem, every time we pass the egg section in the grocery store he wants to go out back to look at the grocery store's chickens. He doesn't believe me that the eggs come from far away.

    Canning tomatoes

Exactly. I canned over 80 quarts of tomatoes last year and I thought it took forever at 45 minutes each. I would have ended up feeding all the extra tomatoes to the chickens if I had to can them for 85 minutes.

Mandieg4 - Update and lots of new pics of kids and animals.

In a million years I would have never believed it. The two eggs that had pipped but didn't do anything all day yesterday throughout the whole power outage fiasco actually hatched last night. When the power came back on I cleaned up the incubator and through the four that had hatched earlier...

    Canning tomatoes

Maybe because the tomato juice is thicker than water so it takes longer to heat up :idunno

I cannot believe my hatch rate. All but two of the eggs that had pipped before the power went out has hatched and lived. Out of 32 eggs that went into lockdown, 7 never pipped, 2 died after pipping, and 23 are live and well. Considering that in the past 48 hours my humidity has gone from 45%...

I ran to Walmart and bought one like the second link Den posted moved the chicks from the incubator to a box and have a heat lamp plugged into the charger thing. I put a heat pack in a bread pan wrapped in a towel and put the last 7 eggs that are still trying to hatch on the towel. I filled a...

A storm knocked our power out a little after midnight tonight. The power company said it would be back on by 3:45 am. At 4am the power was still not on so I called back and now they are estimating that it will be 8:15 PM before its back on. :barnie I have an incubator full of new chicks and a...

FDA Says You Have No Right... Unless They Give You Permission 1st

The thing that upsets me is they are trying to regulate the wrong things. If you're going to regulate the good stuff then why not regulate the bad stuff too. My sister came down with meningitis due to listeria they suspect came from a hot dog she fed her kids and had to deliver her baby 10...

Mandieg4 - Update and lots of new pics of kids and animals.

I heard something early this evening and I honestly thought one of the kids had snuck in a couple of the new babies I got from the feed store the other day. But I only heard it twice for a brief moment and then I didn't hear anything again. I went to bed and my oldest came running in my...

Mandieg4 - Update and lots of new pics of kids and animals.

Thanks! Where is the sweat wiping smiley? I have a feeling I'm not going to get much sleep the next couple nights. I'm worried about the dogs getting curious with all the peeping going one so I have them locked up in the bedroom and the door to the bathroom where the incubator is shut. I...

5 of my eggs are hatching already and we just went into lockdown yesterday. What do I do? Leave them in the incubator until the rest hatch? I'm not supposed to open the incubator tomorrow right? :barnie ACK! This is so stressful!

    Got a free rabbit hutch

I'm jealous! I've been looking for cheap cages for several months now and all I can find are little bitty ones that I wouldn't be able to fit a nest box in.
