    Would he go for a packaged energy bar? CLif and Clif Z kids are good. I will try to find my energy bar recipe I have @ home and post it. Whole wheat instead of white should fill him up a little more. Peanut butter on celery (w/wo raisins on top) is crunchy and filling, too.

    Just wanted to say that we used the homemade dishsoap mix for the first time last night and it worked well. We used the white vinegar for the rinse,also. Has anyone figured out the price per load like the laundry mix? If not, I will try.

    Magazine, not a book (although they might publish one) Mother Earth News. We get them from the library. Good ideas for farming, chickens, energy-efficiency, etc.

    Also kinda obvious--get off your posterior!

    We take the dog on nightly walks after dinner. We are not close enough to safety walk/ride bikes to anything except the neighborhood across the road for a bike ride. **But we go the gym 3-4 times/week and I teach group fitness.

    We hand our clothes outisde whenever practical and add a little fabric softener to the wash before hand. For the sandpaper son: Haven't tried it yet, but I learned on here to use vinegar as a softener, too.
