There is a peace and a hope here... I haven't really been on in forever as I have been limiting my computer time in order to get more SS time in. The other night I needed some help in identifying a creepy crawling thing and tonight I am just going through some old stompin' grounds. I have...
Oh how did I get these!!! My first post mentioned 50 pound potato bags and old boxes of canning jars.... from this? Could they have been here while the house was empty of people for 2 ~ 4 years? :hide
there are some smaller ones in that pic that may pass. I don't remember the legs having the hair on them, but maybe they are young. The orange~y brown is slightly different, but for now, I am going to say that is thee closest to my insect. They are definitely more "ugly" as they age ...
Agreed! Except we were invaded by a similar bug and learned that they were "squash bugs" because they were on our pumpkin crop, butternut and zucchini. the body on my insect is more oblong or elipticle...
murphy's law just went into effect. Now that I am actually looking for them, I will not see one. As soon as I do, I will capture, picture and post. I reviewed some pics again and i can see where I might be getting close. I think the most distinctive thing about this insect, is the color...
Ok I just drew a colored pic, scanned it and previewed. I thought if I saved it as a jpeg, it would pick up the color. It is just a black blob. Back to the "drawing board" and looking at pics
no. there are segments about an eighth of inch wide down its body. I would say 1/2 inch? to last night's critter of close to an inch. The head is not separate like an ant's head, but those pics have the body type. Kinda like an armidillo's segments only there is no way that this insect can...
we are getting closer.... when I describe the black brown color and then saw the pics above, I realized that not everyone can see my bug yet. The insect is brown say 2/3 of its body and then has a black tail end ...the last third. i am pretty certain of this and not the other way around...
I feel like I have been looking a America's Most wanted in "bug" pictures, but have yet to find the one like my very own. Thank you all for keeping with me on this. I am so creeped out now, but I am looking out for the critters. My husband works 2nd shift, so I will look after dd goes to bed...
Ok. Piedmont, NC is where I live. and I am going on a "bug" hunt. :weee
can tell you that it doesn't seem to have any wings. I think, if I listened closely enough, it would crunch when it was squashed. The antennae are two single long "hairs". Kept dreaming of this insect all night... need...
We have black and brown insects that are making me quite nervous. While I am pretty certain they are not cockroaches, I am certain our crazy landlady will see one one day and FLIP out saying that we brought cockroaches in the house. I just saw one coming out of the bathroom and I trapped it...
No idea what causes that... but it happens every once in awhile when we can and he says he does't worry 'bout it. Still tings.:clap. Try taking band off and making certain it sealed. let us know how that goes....:pop
:D I am having trouble with whites as well. Specifically, stains. Like chocolate and other foods. I also made a batch of homemade soap yesterday and doubled the Fels, borax and washing soda, but not the water. It was in a 5 gallon bucket overnight and it gelled solid all the way to the...
