I understand that! They are something you need to be consistant with. You can make them slow down by putting them in the fridge. But, it doesnt seem to be something you want to do often. It takes me anywhere from 3-15 minutes a day with them. Depending on what I am using them for.
I have very healthy Milk Kefir Grains. When treated right, they will triple in size in weeks. There are smoothies, soft cheeses, hard cheese and ricotta type cheeses that can be made with this very healthy culture. It acts as a probiotic and can be used by humans, dogs, chickens...
For people with lactose intolerance, a yogurt-like drink called kefir could put dairy in their diet again.
Lactose intolerance is a very common digestive problem caused by too little of an enzyme called lactase, which the body needs to digest lactose -- milk sugar. Gas, bloating, and diarrhea...
I thought you would like to know I have 3 kefir cheese going right now. I cant wait to taste the finished product.
Are you experimenting yet?
I put some kefir whey in with some sliced pickling cucumbers and wow! They were mushy in less then a week. Lesson-

Do a google search for raising Tilapia in 55 gallon drums. There is a lot of info on the subject.
It is quite fascinating.

(I'm also interested in getting some laying hens, and possibly bees, but one thing at a time. i'm sure the rabbits are gonna keep me busy for a while.)
All I can tell you are my experiances. The shed sounds like a good size for them, but do remember in the summer time they will need a ton...

I have not been on this site for long but, I do know at the bottom of this page is a link to backyardherds.com and it has an entire rabbit section. The site is not nearly as busy as this one though. I think people are still new to it or unaware of it.
But, there is good info there. Also a...
I am so sorry for your friend.
I have had several dogs all on kibble. Now, all 4 are on raw and have been for around 3 years. I am really looking forward to seeing the differences as they age.
I can not imagine going back to kibble now that I have fed raw. Even if it is a bit more work...
I am with Freemotion....... I would rather feed raw from the supermarket then kibble from the supermarket. the raw is cheaper if shopped right. And dont get me wrong, when I started this.......... I thought you people saying, its cheaper are full of #@%p.
You need to shop and be creative...
I have a small meat rabbit project in my back yard with hanging cages. The meat is great, they do not require alot of care, and my chickens clean up under their cages and help with composting. They eat very little and take up very little room.
I eat rabbit at least once a week now. I love...
I have a large yard with lots of trees and am limited to sunlight. I also have terrible soil here for gardening. So, instead of tilling and hauling in dirt I did a bucket container garden and loved it. http://www.sufficientself.com/forum/uploads/thumbs/1834_peppers727.jpg[/img]...
Thank you wildsky. I rescued them from the same lady just 6 weeks apart. The black one was the last to come to my house. All matted up, ear infection and flea infested. He is now a spoiled brat like the rest of them. It takes commitment to brushing and combing on a weekly basis to keep a...
Here are my two boys that eat raw and have for over 2 years. I use womens hair ties and put them around their ears when they eat. The white/tan cocker likes to pick the yard for anything good to eat. I have a mulberry tree and I discovered it only by wondering what he was eating. Sure...
