Yeah - I know - I'm posting the question to a bunch of homeschoolers hoping to hear affirmation of my decision.
My kids (now 11 and 8) have always been homeschooled. I actually still work from home a few hours a week in my old profession, but let's face it, the cash I bring in doesn't cover...
You really have to look into the county and state laws. Where I live, property taxes on agricultural land is a tiny fraction for that of regular property. They do have regulations as what counts as agriculture, though.
My cats killed a juvenile copperhead and left it for me (yes - the same cats that have killed 5 bats lately).
Before I cleaned it up, the chickens ran off with it.
Just kind of wondering -- do you think it's ok to eat eggs now? I'm guessing if there is any poison, it will kill the chicken...
Oh, Puh-lease!!
This will go the way EVERYthing in DC goes. The House passes one bill. The Senate passes a different bill. Everyone jumps on the bandwagon and attaches their own million dollar pork project until everyone compromises on the real bill that finally gets passed. This final bill...
I doubt any of us can speak intelligently about a 1200 page bill. I understand that it creates a cap on energy use (how much carbon can be produced). Certain carbon credits are alotted. If the company produces less carbon, it can trade its credits. Seems to me whenever a market is limited in...

Don't get me wrong -- I adore books...
I'm with you, QA. I'm just going to focus on the idea to eat in as natural a form as possible and avoid refined and processed things... honey over white sugar, whole wheat over white flour, olive oil over processed canola, pork over bacon, butter over margarine. And maybe I'll try to remember...
Bat #2 managed to escape. Of course, a couple of days later, the cats brought home bat #3.
Soon after reading Reinbeau's post on getting shingles, I started with a deep pain in my back and a sensation of a sunburn on my skin. Unlike shingles, it has spread across my back, through my hips, and...
In the bigger picture, I think being self-suffcient is a journey of self-discovery. We learn what we are capable of and what need help with. It is a life-changing journey. Kudos to all who walk with us on this journey :clap
That is one of the things I have to ask them. I'm paying about $2.80 per pound. At this point, let's assume that I'm paying for these parts either way.....
So what would I do with these things?
