Would you believe (you probably will if I tell you I'm in a little town on the east coast :) ) that I've never eaten an artichoke? 'Tis true. Do they have a taste like any other veggie, or a unique taste?
It was a him and no, I will not introduce you... or the huge box from Sees might be sitting at your door instead of mine the next time he gets so generous. Unfortunately I'm *not* quite so generous. hehe :D
I'm not sure whether or not he can sing... I suppose with enough dubbing of Sinatra's voice (that's most likely what they plan to do) no one would even care if he can't really sing for himself.
How neat that you got to meet Sinatra and Eva. I didn't know they dated but it seems as if they'd be...
It's always been with us, yes. I've come to the conclusion, though, that both
sides are generally spinning their wheels into the muck and mire and that I
need to come up with my own "truth" somewhere in the middle.
Thank you for the prayers, heretoday. I'm finding that I desperately needed them today. I just can't talk myself into calming down.
And no, I'm trying not to do much today. Tonight will be horrible. I had potato salad for breakfast (I made a lot, too!) and now I'm ready for a fast-forward...
Happy Memorial Day, everyone. It's a sad one for me because the aunt I was closest to died yesterday. I am kind of numb and horrified at the services that I'll have to attend tomorrow and Wednesday. :(
But I'm still trying to make the best of today. I've already made potato salad to go...
Basically it's just "little things" for me. I try to always get enough water and I try to serve more veggies than before, watch what we eat, and take a few vitamins and supplements.
We have a treadmill but I really need to use it more than I've been... but now it's soon going to be hot again...
Stop already! My daughter thinks I'm sick with all the groaning that's coming
from the corner of my office where I'm sitting! :D I like this one... actually I heard it just a few days ago, but it was the "blonde version." :D
Okay, that's not actually a question because I'm not sure it has an answer... BUT while I realize that "everyone's out to make a buck" why do you think every single ONE of my utilities has risen in cost in the last few months?
Why do the utility corporations think common folks in a horrid...
I used to think that, too, but I got so nauseatingly sick with all the spin on EVERY news show depending on who owns them, that I just turned them all off for the most part.
"Well informed" only works if there's no spin. And there ARE no news programs without it.
Oooh, that sounds like a perfect side dish for a huge pot of chili! I've been meaning to make chili for weeks now and haven't yet. I am sitting here this morning making my menu and store list for grocery day tomorrow and I'm going to *finally* remember to buy the ingredients. Thanks! :D
:) Hey there ya go! Luckily my daughter always liked broccoli, but I wasn't above suggesting she hide things like peas in her mashed potatoes so she wouldn't have to taste them. :D
I'm glad to hear that your cornbread was a hit!
I agree that's a good place to start, SageMother. It sure is more difficult than it would have been before food prices got so ridiculously high, though. Places like Aldi and Save-A-Lot help with certain food items.
You'll have to tell me more about this if I'm to answer the question. :) I so rarely watch television or movies that I don't recognize things like this any longer. It's going to be... what? A series? A movie?
What's your favorite meal to serve when it's too hot to spend much time cooking?
I like things like pasta salad best for those days... well, if my husband can't bring pizza or hoagies home, that is. :D
Yes, that was a great buy! I really need to look at places like that for such things... I never remember until it's too late. We also have a weekly paper where hundreds of ads for all kinds of things are printed. It often lists exercise equipment.
At one point we were given a ski machine but...
Sure sounds healthier than "plain" cornbread. Will you be serving it plain like cake, or with a spread like butter? How did it go over at your potluck?
