    Avacodos...what to do with them?

One thing I was thinking about...I'd like to grow avacados...I love avacados...avacados are very good for you....yum avacados!!! But, is there a way to preserve avacados if one were to grow an abundance of them? I've heard of mashing them up and freezing them, and I know you can keep an...

    Tuco's journey from "total-reliance" to "self-sufficient"

Here is a rundown of many of the things I'd like to do on my (future) urban homestead. I may not implement everything listed here, it's just a starting point from which I can determine what is going to work best for me. I've been scouring the web, and whenever I find an information resource...

I had never thought of quail before. I'll have to look into that. I'm already considering chickens and catfish in addition to rabbits. Perhaps ducks too.

$6000 off grid whole house Solar System

I'm guessing the amps is 'per hour'. The batteries listed above are 1600amp hours. So, if it is amps per hour, if you added up all the amps x hours used of each appliance, that should give you an estimate of how long your charged battery array would last without recharging.

$6000 off grid whole house Solar System

I'm thinking the question really is, how many amps is it draining? I dunno, I'm still pretty clueless when it comes to these numbers. I've seen a similar chart that shows amps and watts. What is doesn't tell is precisely what you're asking, and that is "over what period of time" Hour? 24...

    Tuco's journey from "total-reliance" to "self-sufficient"

Good news! A step in the right direction. I'm selling my van tonight, so that's some much needed money that'll help me get caught up on some of my bills. Soon, I'll be selling my project Harley, so that'll be a lot more money. Rabbits! I spent much of the day researching how to raise...

Turned your hobby into a business?

One of my biggest passions is garage sales, thrift stores, etc. So, I opened an antique/vintage store. Unfortunately there was too much overhead, so I had to close the store, but I still sell on Ebay quite a bit. It's really a good way to make some extra income if you know what to look for.

    Low Cost Houses?

I never heard of adverse possession before. I look for cheap houses on www.zillow.com you can narrow down the search by price range (There's many for $10,000-$20,000, possibly less)

$6000 off grid whole house Solar System

The "math" on a solar system is definately something that I know very little about at the moment, (when I'm watching a video about solar arrays and they start throwing out numbers, I just get a blank stare on my face and my eyes start to glaze, hehe) but, the components I listed are actually a...
