    new spring tips of conifers

Interesting I just listened to a public radio broadcast on the same thing, eating trees. Seems that some of the same species of trees taste different and the DJ was tasting many trees to find out which ones had a better flavor. Have you noticed any difference from tree to tree?

Denim Deb Hay, hay, hay. Thank the Lord!

Fire sounds good I am huddled nest to a little heater here at work keeping my feet warm. My fault though, sun was out so I wore the very unpractical cute shoes.

What kind of bread pans do you like?

I have old milk glass bread pans I found at a yard sale and I love them. I lucked into some of the old dimpled steel ones like Moolie's mom but they are smaller and I use them for banana and pumpkin breads.

For those who like coffee: STOCK UP

Good to know, I love my coffee and only buy whole bean organic. I have stored 25 1lb packages in the cool basement and never had a problem. Air is the enemy when it comes to coffee storage so if you plan to stock up a vacuum sealer would be perfect. Ground will not stay as fresh for long term...

    How's your weather?

Ours is just plain nasty. Wind and more wind 50 to 60 MPH here in the south and in the north far worse, some areas had 72 MPH and lots of damage. Cold and temps in the 20's tonight. Sunday was lovely, 70 and a little overcast, sweet grand daughter helped in the yard all day spraying everything...

New cloche for protecting garden plants

I do the same thing with 1 gallon water jugs using them in spring and fall. I have had great results under tarps. I use as many as I can get my hands on and like the screw top type. I have popped the tops off more than a few of the push on ones when I'm in a hurry and the temps are plummeting.

    May as well start now

I feel so rushed and behind lately. It seems that I am going almost 24/7 and there still is an ever growing list of things I must take care of. On Friday DH and I travel to Reno to pick up our granddaughter, we get to keep her for 2 weeks :ya and spoil her rotten ;) before we take her back. I...

Wannabefree...guess what I got in the mail today!?!?!?!?

I managed to get some peas in Sunday but other than that we have grey skies here too. This time of year I despise the snow. You guys get salt before the storm?? Heck if we get salt a day after it's just plain luck. On another note the pesky cricket that finds it's way into your house and starts...
