There is absolutely nothing wrong with the 4-in-1 trees. they grow well and do take a bit of care while pruning but they are nice trees. Almost every tree you buy is grafted now days (see I said almost) there are a few exceptions but not many- Key lime can grow by root cuttings very well.
And...
I have to agree with ya. people are kinda stupid about food now days. My grand daughter was with us shopping this week and they have these cute little burpless cucumbers called baby cucumbers sold four in a pack(on sale for a buck instead of the normal $3) and she looked at them and said.. Hey...
I have to say that while some MSG bothers me not all does.. like the more natural occurring ones from seaweeds and mushrooms don't bother me at all. and I agree with Moolie.. I've been researching and cooking much more in the Asian cuisine area and with most recipes you can omit what you can't...
Thanks! I'd not heard that before made me giggle! speedgoat! does it taste as good as goat? If I could butcher the cute little boogers I'd raise goat as it is so yummy.
I have a new area that gets really hot in the afternoons in the summer and I hope to get some herbs going on that side. I need a good hot area for good oregano so that the flavor shows up better. and some more thyme and a perm place for some chives and more walking onions. the grand babies...
Oh man I want to try sweet potatoes this year to.. just a few hills as hubby and son and I love them baked or french fried and it sounds like you might have had nematodes! naughty things( try this plant as thick as you can old fashioned marigolds in the spot that you want sweet potatoes next...
I didn't do much last summer and still feel like a cripple due to the knee surgery so I totally know how you feel! and the black raspberry canes are taking over half the yard cuz I just didn't feel like tackling them last year! (the leaves I dried last spring did make a tasty tea tho so I know...

hehe the only reason I ended up with a bread machine was that my daughter wanted one and since I baked she wanted me to help her make up "dump"kits instead of buying them so my mother got it for her and I started working with it and it truly makes a crappy loaf! but wonderful dough.. in fact my...
I had black walnuts for years and I axed the ankle biting monster! but I had beautiful daffodils that came up under it for years-just in case you want to put a bit of color under there.
I'm a sucker for the little rice crackers with the bit of nori wrapped around them and the wasabi flavor! OH MY! I wonder how hard those are to make? I have the nori! just bought 120 sheets thru amazon cheap.
Hum.. I love to bake and crackers are the one thing that I have not been able to master.. ever. Would you be willing to start a cracker thread for us? Pretty pretty please with sesame seeds on top?:love
On the vertical gardening thread the OP asked what different things are people trying this year and I thought it was a good enuf question to merit it's own thread. They don't have to be exotic just something that you have decided to try and is completely different than what you normally do...
Nice haul! A neighbor down the road from me when I lived in Florida had three or four types of bananas and I know ice cream was one and it was fantastic and they also had little fat almost round ones that I have no idea what the name was they were fantastic too! I just have a dwarf potted...
I have to say that while I have learned everything by hand first(from years in restaurant work) I love some of my kitchen gadgets.
If I just have to chop a few things my cutting board and santoku knife will beat the food processor every time, but if I am doing more than one or two of each item...
To keep from derailing this thread I would suggest reading as much as possible about soap making here on this site by using the search feature and all over the internet. it is more complicated than what I just put here quickly and while complicated it is not hard to do.
cut out all the margarine and fake low fat stuff. that goes into your bloodstream like it is pumped in. Hubby was diagnosed with type two and high blood fat/cholesterol a few years ago. we cut out all fake stuff and switched to real butter, lard, olive oil and I limit how much he gets per...
