hehe Okay, you got me... it was supposed to be a joke. :-) I can't replace the television every time I feel like throwing a brick either. Which is why I rarely watch it at all anymore. I find that I don't even miss the news... I catch up with it on the 'Net if there's something I want to...
Wow, that is *excellent* heretoday! I used to have a bike but it needed to be replaced and we haven't done it get. It didn't have the readings, though.. that would be great! I do have a treadmill that has the computerized readouts and I'd have to nearly knock myself out to burn 250. :-)
If the need would arise, what's the first thing you'd give up to save money for the household?
I've thought this over and I'm pretty sure that the first thing to go would be the cable. I rarely watch television and I could get news and weather on the 'net.
Anyone else?
Now that two months have passed since you wrote this, have you found it
any easier to get back into an exercise routine... or is it still difficult for you?
I really need to find some motivation.
12 pounds sounded like heaven to me, too, until it was actually sitting here
in front of me. Then it had to change from "Wow, all the Sees I want!" to "Ugh, but there are calories and fat in it so I have to be careful."
Ick, that takes all the fun out of having chocolate around. :-)
Ah, that makes sense, yes. I have a feeling that it would be the same for
me. I've tried some of the artificial sweeteners and always came to the
same conclusion... that "real" sugar is better for me in the long run... I just
cut the amount down that I would have used (that's for coffee and...
I used those for a while a number of years ago. I don't remember it helping
too much but I might be wrong about that. What I *do* remember is the
horrid smell. Have they been able to do anything to mask that?
Yes... and I find this so very sad. So many people think of this as the land of opportunity and pin their dreams on that (like your friend from India) and then have to have that cold reality thrown at them. :-( Are they determined to return, or might they change those plans?
I remember very...
Yes, you're right about that... and it's not just one network or cable news program doing it. They all do it, they just select different platforms and different agendas.
The spin is just as bad whether left, right, or smack dab in the middle. Each side will argue that's not true, but I've...
Icky! And as an addition to this, we found out yesterday that it's been extended right through the 3rd quarter, too.. with still another week off unpaid. I'm really not liking where this is going fast.
How are the rest of you coping with everything getting so much worse in the last few months?
I'm not familiar with Kaiser, so I'm not really sure what that's like... BUT we use to have an HMO and the way they kept having us come back for test after test when everything was perfectly fine was so annoying, we dropped it for another healthcare program that didn't do that.
I would prefer...
Are you referring to the spin, SageMother... and being told what to think and how to feel according to which network or cable news we're watching? Or something else?
That's good to know for when I finally find some. I have a huge sweet tooth, but there's a certain level of artificial sweetness that I just can't tolerate.
I've noticed this, too. Do you think it has to do with having less to "leave behind" or because they are simply looking for opportunities their country doesn't provide?
I have often thought this same thing. The spin involved on ALL sides is ludicrous and I just got tired of it.
I used to start every day with at least 30 minutes or an hour of the news headlines while I was doing housework and getting ready for the day but I don't even turn it on any longer...
If you mean calories, I was very surprised recently to check the calories on marshmallow "fluff" and it's surprisingly low... 20 per tablespoon. If you mean the fact that there's a lot of sugar, I agree. No fat, though.
