Had to get on the computer this morning. It's the first I've been on it since May. So, I thought I'd pop in and say hi before going outside to do some yard work. I won't have my coffee until a bit later. I try to get stuff done outside before it gets too hot.

It's been a long time since I've been on here, and a lot has happened since then. After my mom's death, I started going out first once a day, then twice a day to check on my father. I also drove him most places he needed to go as well as cleaned his house and did his yard work. Also helped him...

Right now, I don't have the time to go canoeing. Wish I did, especially since it's starting to get cooler. It doesn't help that the truck isn't running, so I couldn't go even if I had the time.

Callie has been going w/me since I first got her. She really wants to get out at times. This year, she didn't jump out any, last year, she did.

I have a canoe, my friends have kayaks, so we go kaynoeing. I can't sit in a kayak due to injuries from a car accident. And, since I take my dog, Callie, w/me, it's probably better that I use a canoe! She loves to go.

If you don't know your trees, it's an easy enough mistake to make. The leaves of a sweet gum are similar to a maple. But, the branching pattern is different, and the sweet gum has a prickly ball for a seed pod.

Just a little tip for making maple syrup, make sure the trees you're tapping are actually maple! I was talking w/someone a few years ago that tried to make syrup, and had no luck. I looked at the trees. They weren't maple-they were sweet gum.

The pit is done and most of my fence! I was able to go kaynoeing last week, and hope to be able to go next week as well.

I'm fine, busy but fine.

I have a gopro and could never get it to tape for more than 3 minutes at a time. I gave up on it.

I was videoing some turtles on a log and hit it w/the paddle. So, no more videoing while I'm canoeing unless I can come up w/a way to secure the phone. I do get ones that are waterproof. So, if I had been able to find it, it would have probably been OK.

Haven't really been on lately, been too busy. But, I'm working on pen #3. I should be done it by next week! I have some videos on my YouTube channel, Dizzy's Doings, but wasn't able to put all of them on there. I was canoeing at the beginning of the month, and my phone decided to go...

And, I started on pen #2 today! I got all the staples pulled on the fencing-it's tied in place, got the netting down from overhead, took apart most of the broody house and pull up hardware cloth from most of the broody pen. I'll be getting posts pulled out tomorrow.

At this point in time, I can't remember what the weathers like from one day to the next! I did finish the first pen, but haven't started the 2nd. I didn't finish it until Monday. I am quite happy w/how it came out.
