Broilers are ugly birds but I've never had any as ugly as the ones in the pictures.... We have 22 outside waiting for the lucky few who are going to the fair to get home so they can all move to the freezer.
The ones I was thinking of/talking about are like regular Ziploc bags that have an airlock on the front below the zipper and can be used over and over with washing.
There are handheld vacuum pumps and bags to go with them. Our local walmart/kmart keep them by the large vacuum sealers. They run about $20 for the electric pump and $5 for the manual one. I have both. Use one in the house and one is in my camping gear...
I had some jars doing that until I started running my sealer twice on each jar. It doesn't pull the lid down tight enough with just the one cycle of my sealer.
I had to get a new washer. Durned thing leaked water everywhere..... I got 2 lamancha goats, one just delivered twins and the other is due soon. I also got a solar oven and a milker for the goats.
Goat milk? I was looking at buying a separator but if freezing will give me enough cream for butter I'll make room in the freezer for it. It would be much cheaper.
