Warmed up for 2 days... was 55 overnight, up to 57, rained last night into mid afternoon this afternoon... but it got really WINDY.....has been gusty all afternoon and evening... and temps are down to 28 already...
Checked the rain gauge when I got home from work... 1.2 inches so far... Should...
Hi and welcome from Va... @Thewhippoorwhil, Please go to your name top right, down to account details, down to location and put in a general location... we don't need details to your house :hide:th:gigbut a state or area helps us to get a feel for what things you face... how the crops are...
Must be a great neighbor to be pollinating your garden/orchard/ flowers for "free"... any chance of getting some "local" ... literally .... honey too????
Yes @CrealCritter that is the one I got. Like so much stuff, when they first came out, they were more expensive... And I managed to find 2 within a month that were new in box on e-bay... the first one for right around $300.... then the second one was someone who obviously bought it and didn't...
My food saver titanium will seal 16" bags also... and it is a heavy one too... Aside from having to put the bag in farther to seal, I have been fairly happy with it... They cost over $400 new, got this one for less than 300... and then came across a 2nd one a couple weeks later for a little...
We have had several nights in the teens... Mon-Tues-Wed were 17, 16 and 15 .... days in the upper 30's and very low 40's but the wind chill had it around the freezing mark. Wed night/Thursday morning only got down to 31, warmed up to 44 on recording thermometer but the wind was biting... I wear...
@CrealCritter , which vac sealer did you upgrade to? I have the Food saver titanium which is their "commercial equal" but don't like the amount of extra bag needed to fit in to seal... it will seal bag after bag though with no waiting inbetween like the smaller ones need. I have a smaller...
17 here this morning... up to 46 but dropped like a rock to 20... will get a little colder... We had a little flurries... little puffs of snow like those styrofoam beads in bean bag chairs.... Going to be a cold week all week.
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone here... Was 42 overnight, only up to 53 but mostly cloudy and wind is blowing so feels A LOT colder.
Went up to do cow and calves, wind was blowing alot up there too. Feel a little more "alive" today at least.. not quite as washed out...
Few snow flurries out...
Haven't been on here for a couple months... mostly BYH, and not as much as I used to. Just lots of normal stuff and DS has been off work due to ongoing complications from a workman's comp accident several years ago... looks like they are putting him on long term disability...good for 5 years...
Rosey , um, Grier maybe? Knitted and did needlepoint and such... I am not a big football fan, but way back then when I was a lot younger, used to watch some when the guys in school liked it....
@CrealCritter , didn't think about peaches being stone fruits along with the cherries etc, just that pears and apples were listed and I just naturally think peaches next... Here our mulberries are really tall trees, and this year was a bumper crop... birds went crazy.
No peaches mentioned???? We had Peaches up in CT when the weather still got down in the -5 degrees in the winter and we had alot of snow... Lots of peaches here in VA... Mulberry trees here too...
Sitting looking at the BEAUTIFUL RAIN that we have been desperate for... falling on the garden.... and the lawn that needs mowing.... and the hayfield across the road....
