Does anyone know the Inuit or Native Alaskan name for "Big Dog/s"?
I know this is probably a little off topic, BUT my hubby swears he heard the word before and he really liked it. We are starting up our kennel and trying to remember this name to incorporate into the name of our kennel and...
I think it's great hear too. I am a member of all 4 sites and learning so much. A friend I met through BYC gave me a book called the Self sufficient life an how to live it by John Seymour. It is so good especailly for a newbie like me.
Now all we need are more smilies!!! :caf
You were very blessed to have all 5 of your babies for sure. I'm glad you were able to show the doctors.
I really get touchy about this subject. I hear people trash the duggar family for having 18 kids. While I don't think my body could personally handle that many, she obviously can. They are...
You took the words right out of my mouth!!
Oh and by the way we found out when we visited Australia, people make comments there too. One of them was "do you guys own a tv?" (Like we had nothing better to do other than make babies) It took me a minute to figure that one out and when I did I was...
You know I love to respond to those comments about "are they all yours"... with "no I just picked them all up on the way here"...Some people are so stupid!!
My older two kids are actually my step children. Their mother has nothing to do with them and we have had sole custody for over 4 years...
I stay pretty busy escept at the moment due to an injured ankle which has me on crutches.
I actually was an only child growing up and always wanted a big family. I got my wish.
What I hate is when we go out people look at us in a negative way and I get some of the most rediculous questions asked...
I love homschooling my kids. We can incorporate teachings from the bible as well which they won't get in public school. Hey and let's be completely honest....at least at home we don't have to worry about some lunatic shooting/stabbing our kids. They are home safe and sound. They get a wonderful...
This is so funny, my DH and I have been debating this exact thing. He says we don't need them, that they are a waste of money (and he's the one that works). When we were really poor years ago I never had the luxury of them, so I know I can live without them because we have before. Now I get them...
I wondered about the bug thing too... But it has alot of Lime in it...doesn't that keep bugs away?
I didn't think about Earthquakes, ouch. But I still like it.
You do know it's a regular size house right???
I think they are awesome and much healthier for our families than the new modern "toxic" homes of today.
My DH found these a few months ago and I thought the folks here might enjoy them, too. The first house is truly an eco-friendly self-sufficient house the other house is kind of a wannabe but still nice looking.
Let me know what you think!

Wow...I'm so jealous 120 acres. I wish! I only have 20 which nothing compared to yours. We are renting this farm (we got very lucky to be able to do that) cause we just moved up here from VA and had never been here before. I want to buy 100 acres or more in the next few years once we've been...
Our horse is named Ginger. I think she is enjoying her freedom and exploring her new home. I hope she is happy.
I love to ride, it's been a while and our oldest took riding lessons for a while, she loves it too.
Yes I have 6 beautiful (2 step, 4 mine and hubby's together) kids. They are 15, 12...

We made the move because we have 6 kids and really just wanted to have them grow up some place better. We have lived in VA, NC, SC, MT & WA and traveled alot. We have no family out here. We have been very blessed for sure.
