I've been watching Edwardian Farm like a drug addict, and I can't help but enjoy all the interesting things that were done in that age.

This one I'd like to share with chicken people, because I'm pretty impressed with it: it's an Edwardian egg incubator.

The section on the incubator begins at 6:00, and ends at around 9:15.

And the result of the incubator:

11:45 to 13:00.

:)
They actually did not use the incubator. He mentions that at one point.

I have an incubator. Her name is Buffy. She's a great incubator - and a great mama hen. And a great egglayer the rest of the time.

I tried to buy a silkie chick or two last spring so that I'd have one, too, but they are out. I have chickens that go broody but they don't stay on the nest long enough. I did have my orloffs each manage one nest during their second summer but they have not gone broody again since. My silly Buff Orpingtons always leave the nest. I have new EEs and Speckled Sussex this year, I'm hoping that one of them might be the broody type since the feed store didn't have silkies.

I did get an incubator this year though.
