It was recomended to cover my new workbench top (which is 3/4 osb)
in poluurethane, then to wax and buff it..the wax keeps glue from sticking and chemicals from soaking in..Any preferences to whay polyurethane and wax to use??

Depending on your budget and size of your bench,I think you would end up spending as much as you would if you cover it with arborite .Poly isn't cheap and it soaks in like water.Water spills and wet wood will eventually cause the surface to swell, keeping you from accurate measurements.Osb is rough enough as it is and gets harder to keep clean as it gets used.Arborite cleans easily and will not cost an arm and a leg,and can be glued to osb easily. It is also available through any building supply store.A good smooth surface will pay you back in less frustration.
