I just realized that I pressure canned my 38 pints of catfood at 11 lbs for 45 minutes instead of 75 minutes!!!! They are all sealed.....do I run them through again for 75 minutes? Right now? I am thinking I should. But I have to go do chores and milk, etc!!!

It was 103 in my kitchen today. My brain must've been fried. My goal was to get all the catfood done before the hot weather and get enough done to not have to can until the end of September. I only need one more batch after this one, aaaaarrrrrrrrgh!!!!!!

:he :barnie and how I feel about me right now: :smack and :rant and :somad

I'm assuming that your cat food is mostly meat so yeah, I'm afraid to be absolutely safe I'd redo it.

Sorry. I made the same mistake for chili one time-processed it for pint times instead of quart times.

Thanks for the group therapy! The batch is saved, and I comfort myself with the fact that I only need one more batch to get me through September. I would not have canned today had I known it would get so ridiculously hot!

Of course, I felt even hotter after looking at the thermometer.....
