This morning I awoke to a trail of ants coming into my laundry room. Ant's are nothing new around my house. The bug man I USED to pay to spray the house said I live on an ant hill.

Any ways. They managed to find my very expensive bag of dog food. There are not to many but how can one tell its just a dark pile of kibble. Anyways, my question is. If I put the entire bag into a five gallon bucket and put it in the freezer will it kill the ants? Kinda like the flour thing? I just can't waist the food. It's an almost brand new bag I just opened.

Any ideas???

Needless to say the ant many is coming for his final visit today. Day late and a dollar short as usual. I don't think canceling the service to save a couple bucks has helped. Especially if it cost me a bag of kibble. Looks like I will need to renew the service. Sighhhhhhhh!!!

I don't know, but it won't hurt anything to try it. Good luck!

Corn starch....throw some of it around. They can not digest it and it kills them. Plus they take it back and it kills the main hill.

Tanks, the corn thingy works! I read about this last year somewhere and tried it on the ants in my house. As long as I keep a small lid of grits or cornmeal on my counter, no ants! If I throw this away and wait a week, I will have a few scouts come in and then I'm overrun again. I can put out the cornmeal and not see another ant within the same day's time. Needless to say, I now leave it out all spring and summer. :p

Worth a shot and so cheap!

Ok so corn starch / corn meal the same principal??? I put the dog food in the freezer with hopes to save it and still feed it to my pup. But the corn thing will definitely come in handy with the garden. I swear, (sorry) we have so many ants they over take everything. Including my orchard. I am going to find the biggest bag of corn something and spread it everywhere.

thanks you guys. g
