My good friends went out in their yard cause they thought they heard peeping noises. These 3 were on the ground, by their home. My friends rushed up to the feed store to get supplies for them and will be happily keeping the little ones.

Here's the big question:
What kind are they? They are still fuzzballs, with no feathers yet. They were trying to play in their water dish, so one of the pics shows a wet but happy little one. Don't worry- we cuddled with it till it was all dry again. :love

I'm hoping that one of our waterfowl owners will recognize the breed, since I don't know until they get older.
Thanks!

I'm not 100% positive because I don't normally see them real close, but it looks like a Canada goose gosling. Is she sure the parents weren't around? Quite often, they are, you just may not see them.

I agree that looks like a canada goose. Canada geese are migratory birds protected by law, so it may be illegal to keep them like that. Not sure though. They are very cute however! :)

Another for for Canadian Goose. It is a goose regardless. That bill is a dead give-a-way.

They have lots of predators in that area, and they couldn't find any evidence of a parent around. Their dog normally barks at critters that aren't part of the family if the get in his yard.

I will tell them to look up info on the Canada Goose, so they can know for sure. The pics of baby Toulouse geese look alot like that too. Btw- their German Shepherd met the babies and was curious but not aggressive to them. They were praying he would be a good farm dog, and it looks like with more training, he'll do fine. :)

in my state it is illeagal to even rescue abandoned baby wildlife unless you turn it over to the authorities within X amount of hours. I'd find out the laws in your area before bragging to lots of people you have them.

Well, have they ever seen any geese in the area? Do any of their neighbors have geese? If not, I'd bet they're Canadas. Is there any water at all in the area?
