:th <--me passing out from bacon lust.

I'd never have thought about bacon & fruit together, but this really does sound fabu-marvo-licious.

I want to go to bacon camp!

I did have some really strange dreams but none involved bacon. I have had bacon wrapped dates before (as in the dried fruit  ) but not fresh fruit. :drool

We used to serve bacon wrapped prunes at parties in the 70's. Half cook the bacon first, wrap and finish crisping in the oven.

I actually had a half pound of bacon in the fridge and so I tried these last night. They stuck fairly thoroughly to the muffin tins. I have some silicone pans, but they don't take the high heat. I guess I could go lower and cook them longer. I am not sure how they would be with fruit, but since I don't do low carb, I would fill them with cheesy mashed potatoes !!!

I know. I was being obstreperous.

However, for me, sweet and salty is candied bacon ice cream. Or salted caramel cheesecake. I can't eat them, but they represent the purest form of sweet/salt.

I made candied bacon ice cream (it's maple flavored) for a bacon convention last summer. BIG hit. You have to serve it in a waffle cone for a complete breakfast!
